Even if you were intent on throwing the ball for whatever stupid reason, you don't go with THAT route. You throw another fade to Matthews, you run play action, you roll Wilson out. Not a play where you're basically just chucking and praying that the WR is open

That is exactly what I was saying...

You can slam Wilson all you want, but he's a young QB who has a Super Bowl title and a second super bowl appearance. So I wouldn't mind calling Romo stupid if he could at least get us there. No knock on Romo.

Trent Dilfer also has one. It's called the best defense in the league.

He's a very good player, and he's playing quarterback at a good time to play the position. Having a qb is a luxury in this day and age, so even less successful guys get big contracts.

He still has one ring and a lot of growing. He's going to make a boatload.

He threw 4 INTs against Green Bay and their defense still held Rodgers under 200 yards...

The only logical explanation I can think of...

Somebody wanted the focus on Wilson to win the game, not the ball-grabbing Lynch.

It was reported that a Seahawk player on the tunnel pretty much said you have the best RB in football from one yard out and throw the ball...

Defense and players will resent it. The defense especially, knowing they carry Wilson.

I love it. This was lynch's fault!! Indirectly!

I'm sure if our defense played like Seattle's the past few years, Romo would have multiple titles....without having to call him stupid.

Even if you believe Carroll, you have 3 WRs with one on one coverage and that's the best route you can come up with?

You run the ball although I'd be tempted to run it outside. If I were going to call a pass play it would be from a run formation and likely a bootleg with a stick by a Fback or FB. That way Wilson can either throw it or run it in. And with the stick someone has to either play Wilson or the receiver who is going to chip anyway. I love that play there and I didn't see the run it. NE was loading up for the run. But you don't give the run up there with a first down. You have four plays to score. Passes create holds, false starts, incompletions and INTs.

The DB made a great play and illegal contact or PI could have been called. The pass wasn't great but it should have been a tad closer to the receiver or even a tad behind. Wilson's inexperience showed there. The play call just created the opportunity for disaster.

Exactly on everything.

The DB broke for the ball... Eyes opened real wide, that ball must have looked like a beach ball to him lol

Right. It was a terrible throw. I don't blame the pay calling.

Yeah. You just flat can't throw it that far out in front of your receiver down there. If that's anywhere else on the field, sure, but down there? There's no room for it with all the traffic in the area.

I honestly think so. Somebody was thinking PR along with the win and because of it, blew the game.

No but seriously.

Carroll got too cute.

He let emotion get involved here(beat his old team) IN ADDITION to putting the ball in the air... Into the teeth of the defense.

The only chance the Pats really had was that. He gave them THAT!
