I fear Detroit and NY.

I think we matchup perfectly with seattle and if the game is in Dallas I think we can handle them. I don't think atlanta gets out of the first round and I think tampa if they get in will be out in the first round.

GB is the wild card. A hot packers team with rodgers is very scary.

Every game going forward is going to be tight tense.

Detroit is the best team no one talks about. Stafford could be the MVP and the lions defensive line is really good and nobody pays attention. Detroit is a good team.

Very good chance we get them at home for the rematch in the divisional round although my gut tells me we will have to deal with the giants a 3rd time.

and to the original question I think Teams will not fear us because its not a big deal playing in arlington and we have no pass rush.

I will say atlanta/tampa should fear ny/gb in the wild card round.

in the afc I think new england without a killer defense for once should fear baltimore/oakland/pittsbugh

I don't usually criticize football commentators because they're only giving their opinion. But I just heard Donothan (intentional spelling) McNabb say that the Cowboys could play the Lions and the bad call last year (where the refs negate the pass interference flag committed by Dallas) may come back to haunt Dallas?

I'm like, "Huh?" That call will have no bearing on what happens in any subsequent game we play against the Lions.
I know.

It's just story lines.

But Mathews is a good QB who can find a way to win

Any team that is going to beat us has to have one

We will see.

These threads are so tiring. We are 11-1 and in our own tier in the NFC. No one is on our level. If we lose, it will be our own undoing.

Newsflash, when you get to the playoffs, you are playing good teams. Play our game and we win, no matter the opponent.

Sack up.

The guy just asked a simple question to get thoughts from other fans. Not sure why some posters need to be so rude and decide what should or shouldn't be asked in a public forum. If you are tired of posts like this, skip it and don't read. I guess some fans think people should only posts certain topics. Should everyone get your approval before posting to this forum?

I would say Washington if they made it. First, it's hard to beat a team 3 times in a season. Secondly, passing offenses give us fits. Especially, ones with good TE's....like Reed.

When is the last time Stafford beat a team with a winning record? Yes. Serious question

Idk, we hear the same criticism of our squad. But to answer your question, they beat MIN twice, WSH, and held Brees to 13. They also put up 31 on a stingy Rams D

Stafford is looking good. My point is, Phil, that no matter who we face we need to execute and destroy :)

Stafford has finally become an elite QB. It took him roughly 8 years to settle himself down, but here got there.

I see some parallels with Stafford and Favre. Favre didn't start winning his 3 MVPs until AFTER Sterling Sharpe had his career ending injury and he learned to spread the ball around. Stafford is playing like a MVP now, only after Calving Johnson retired early due to injuries.

Oh I know. I meant in his career. He has never done well against teams .500 or better.

I've decided, given the overwhelming evidence of my question writing acumen, to begin writing questions for standardized testing.

I've read a lot about which teams we would prefer to meet in the playoffs at each level.

Who do you think these other NFC prefer not to meet? Those hoping their AFC team makes the superbowl... surely they have a preferred opponent as well. Does anyone want to face the Cowboys ?

Is there any team out there that thinks the Cowboys are the team they match up the best against?

Surely we are the scariest team out there right now. Opinions?

Edited to add: I must have worded this poorly! I'm not asking who WE are afraid to meet. I'm asking, are WE not the team that everyone else is afraid to meet?

I still think it's Atlanta or GB. I don't want anyone capable of scoring 30+ points on us. We can and will dominate anyone like Seattle , TB, DEt , even the Giants . I'd like to stay away from explosive passing offenses atl , gb , wash. My hope is that TB and DET make the playoffs and knock out GB. Only problem is we play both of those teams in next 3 weeks. If I had my preference we'd beat NY and TB and lose to DET(knocks out GB). Merry Xmas cheese heads .

The teams with the QBs and coaches that have the championship experience are the worst ones to meet in the playoffs. So pretty much, the Giants and Seahawks will be tough outs.

If you look at all the QBs we've played in the playoffs during the Romo Era, the ones we've lost to are all the ones who went to a Super Bowl (or in Eli's case, he ended up going and winning the year they beat us). Hasselbeck, Eli, Favre, and Rodgers.

I would think that Seattle, Atlanta, and Detroit would feel pretty good about their odds. Those would either be dogfights, or barnburners.

Seattle is not as good away from home.

Detroit will go Detroit.

Atlanta, just wait until Matt melts

Any team that has one of the better QBs in the league with a good passing offense would be a bad matchup for us in the playoffs. Atlanta would be the worst matchup for us because Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are having great productive years. Although Atlanta lost their 5th game yesterday it takes a shootout to beat them. They've scored a lot of points this year, with three games over 40 points and Julio Jones who's pushing 1300 receiving yards this season is the best receiver since Randy Moss in my opinion. The Packers would be a problem with a hot Aaron Rodgers if they make the playoffs. Washington would be a problem if they get in with their passing game. Detroit is hot having won 4 straight and Stafford is having a good, productive season. Naturally Seattle would be tough because of their playoff/SB experience and their defense. Jimmy Graham is starting to come on for them and they put up 40 on Carolina last night. They're starting to come on and the key to advancing in the playoffs and reaching the SB is peaking at the right time. We have to hope that we haven't already played our best football this season and that we stay focused through December.

Although we've clinched a playoff spot we can't afford to relax, it's important that we continue to stay focused and play well through Dec/Jan. We haven't won a damn thing yet and still have four games to play. What helped kill off our 07 team was allowing complacency to set in after having everything all wrapped up. Players started heading to Cabo, celebrating less than two weeks before the playoffs. What's been concerning the past 2 games is we allowed Washington and Minn to hang in and have a chance in the closing seconds because of our lack of a pass rush. Both teams scored TD's when they had to have one to give them a chance. Washington scored TD's on their last three possessions giving them an opportunity to recover an onside kick. Although Minn has an anemic offense they were able to score their only TD of the game late in the 4th quarter when they had to have it. Our lack of a 4th quarter pass rush is going to come back on us in the playoffs if we don't improve. If we get beat in the playoffs it will be because of our defense. It MUST improve and we need to start forcing some turnovers to get our defense off the field, giving our offense an extra possession.

We can't keep depending on our offense to win games. We're likely to face a tight 4th quarter battle in the playoffs where we're up by 4-6 points with less than 6 minutes to play and it's going to be up to our defense to keep the opponent out of the endzone, enabling our offense to close the game out. This is where you need a strong pass rush that can affect the QB and possibly force a turnover. A strong pass rush during the playoffs in 2014 which forced a turnover with the score 24-20 against Detroit with a minute left is what saved that game for us. We may need the same thing in the playoffs this year if we want to advance. Granted we haven't given up a lot of points this season, we were tied for 5th in the league in points allowed after Thursday nights game but what happens during the regular season doesn't always hold up in the playoffs. The playoffs are a different animal, it's do or die and the intensity is revved up several notches. A teams regular season record means nothing in the playoffs and a great season can suddenly come to an end. You can't just flip a switch for the playoffs, you have to be playing well going in.

The worst teams to play In the playoffs are division rivals due to the familiarity and increased animosity. Also, both the Commanders and the Giants have a way of pulling games out of their arse.

I've never bought into the mantra that it's hard to beat a team three times. Why? if anything, beating a team twice shows you're better than them. It should give you a lot of confidence if you play a third time. I think it's just something people say in case they do lose the third game. It's just an built in excuse in waiting. Maybe they're thinking about the law of averages. Maybe they think the team that lost the first two games will be more motivated the third time around. Really??? That would provide more motivation than simply knowing if you lose in the playoffs, you're done? I just don't buy it. I would rather be the team that won the first two games than the one that lost them if a third meeting happens in the playoffs.

Yeah, but the rivalry and animosity goes both ways. We hate Washington and N.Y. as much as they hate us. It doesn't give them any more of an edge than it does for us.

Steelers could beat dallas in a shootout. Dobt want to face any division rival in the playoffs. Patriots for obvious reasons.

Ill take chances against atlanta. They have proven less than dallas in the playoffs.
