Based on last year and the record against playoff and teams with winning records, 0-2 would NOT be a surprise to me..
last year isn't this year. Based on that , its all hyperbole and rhetoric.

like me watching the new Street Outlaws and watching them all build their cars an when they finally started the racing i was totally wrong who the favorites were , actually the underdogs who put the least money and time and had the sleepers have started off stronger. haven't watched the final episode yet but it was surprise who that has turned out so far. how do you know TB and Cinci are the same teams and will play the same ..you dont.

I would be disappointed. I expect this team to go out and get the job done. I don't concede games.
Don’t have to concede to provide reasonable expectations.

We aren’t the players who always have to line up expecting to win. Fans are allowed to take a different approach.

I'm expecting a 1-1 start at least. It's not like we're fielding a high school team vs the Bucs or Cincy. Anything can happen and a lot of stuff depends on gameday performance too.

Based on pre season I think we lose, however this will not be pre season. Last season Dallas looked like crap in pre season and came out playing great ball. This season Defense is pretty loaded talent wise and offensively will be the question mark, I think offense could struggle with some consistency early on but I think defense keeps this team in the games. A reasonable expectation? I expect them to go out and win game, period.

Surprised?
Not at all.

But truth be told, I also wouldn't be surprised if we went 2-0.
I think this defense - under its second year with Quinn - is going to be even better and, likely, will keep us competitive should the offense falter.

I also expect Dak, gasp!, to play better, using his feet more.
He's under the gun this year, and I think he'll rise to the occasion.

At least I hope.

While I’m trying to approach this season from an optimistic perspective, the more I step back and look at the current circumstances, the more worried I become.

I’m looking at a rookie left tackle with limited reps, a reputation for holding, and recovering from a high ankle sprain lining up to plan B at left guard.

I’m looking at a receiving group in flux, waiting for its’ #2 to be able to play recovering from major knee surgery.

And I’m also looking at a tough start to the season via scheduling.

I can’t help but to think that we will be spending most of the season clawing back from an 0-2 deficit.

How does everyone else feel?
Not at all, but I think we could steal a win against Cincinnati. There pass protection still isnt very good

I'd be way more surprised by 2-0 than 0-2. I'm expecting 0-2 unfortunately. Jerry is mad at his coach and players, so he's in Angry Old Man mode and pouting instead of using the $20m in cap space to do something about this OL disaster.

It shouldn't surprise us. We're playing teams that were better than us last year. Until we prove that we're better than them, there's no reason to believe that's the case.

I think sometimes we confuse hope with expectations. All of us should hope we beat the Bucs and Bengals. None of us should expect it.

Nope.

2-0 wouldn't shock me either. At this point, I don't have a clue what we have or don't have as a team. Although I would think it's more likely we were to start 0-2, than 2-0.

I think we split those first two games.

I would be disappointed not shocked...reason is I think our defense will be much better. No doubt its anyone guess what this offense will do with its current lineup...but the defense should get us one of these games.

I don't really have a clue what to expect out of tis offense. I do expect the defense to keep the team in the game however so I think 0-2 would surprise me a bit. It could happen if the Smith is just not ready for the LT spot and they don't keep penalties under control.

The early line on Cowboys opener is Bucs -1 1/2. I saw Cowboys as much as 2 point underdog at home .

Surprise me? Yeah, a little. All is not lost with an 0 and 2 start, but all teams are skewed toward .500 so .500 is a more likely scenario.

If Tyron was going to go down and be replaced by a rookie, then a first round rookie is the best possible backup scenario. I’m not sure why everyone believes we CANT win because of a first round rookie playing OT.

McGovern is an improvement over CW. I’m not sure that there will be a lot of drop off from less than prime time Tyron and a highly touted rookie. Prime Tyron, probably so, but not the current version. By the end of the year he may have been Wally pipped.

A Cars isn't an NFL team.....I heard that same excuse last year going into the playoffs against San Fran when I thought San Fran beat Dallas for three reasons, yet I was told the playoffs are different than the regular season yet this is the same team that was one of thee most penalized teams in the league, the offense running game is too inconsistent and the defense couldn't stop the run against winning or playoff teams during the season....but I guess you think it's just hyperbole and rhetoric

Look at the roster on paper, this offense isn't as good as last year.....

Not on paper for sure, I dont think anyone does not agree we will need new players to step up...it happens but is not true until it happens for sure.

I may be in the minority but I’m more concerned about our center situation than the Rookie at LT. He’s been a weak link and I have no reason to believe that’s changed unless they play someone else at center.
