Their goal is to sell soft drinks or whatever to everyone and getting the largest audience is all that matters. It’s smart business.

From merchandising, viewership, stadiums, media, etc. Watch and enjoy the wwf nfl, but don't analyze it too much. It is not a sport it is marketed as entertainment

Sports media is there because the sports franchises want it to be there. Good or bad in the formula for money and viewership = profits. If the coverage was monotone across every team it would = less profits. Having a controversial team which everyone loves or hates = viewership and profits.

The cowboys are a tool to make profits for the nfl, and Jerry is in on it. "Americas Team" is a advertising slogan

The Lions haven't even won a playoff game since 1991. Ironically they beat us.

The GMs for 30 NFL teams have their jobs on the line- either get us to a championship- or least very close- or you’re fired. Our GM and his DNA fortunate eldest son have lifetime contracts regardless of results. The winning owners of the last 27 SBs and counting, all hired a football expert to be the GM, then empower them and hold them accountable for results.

If Jerry was truly as serious about winning a championship as those owners, things would be done differently around here. Nothing changes because JJ wants to play with his toy HIS WAY way more than he wants to win a championship. Jerry wants to win…but his wins start with profits and his ability to personally control everything, not winning championships.

You must have missed some of his most recent comments. He clearly doesn't give a damn about winning, at least not anything past the regular season. As long as the team remains competitive during the regular season and continues to be in the media, he will be happy. Just being relevant is enough.

That being said, don't be surprised if Detroit, Cleveland, or Washington somehow manage to get to at least a championship game while the Jones family is running the team. And each will get there before Dallas ever returns.

Booger cares about winning, just not enough to make the necessary sacrifice to do so and he has some proof for himself.

The reports out of Valley Ranch when he had Parcells were that Booger was miserable being hands off of his own team and the results of that 5 year experiment were not any better than when he is involved. So, he has that as his back up.

We make the wrong assumption that if he'd hired a GM, they would have won more and there is no evidence to support that because there are not a lot of great GM's.

The undeniable fact that Booger understands is that he could never be a hands off owner, he would never return to that. He is incapable of not only being involved but being the face and voice of the franchise.
