Would it help this team if they were treated like the team they actually resemble, the Detroit Lions?

and station are contractually obligated to talk about Dallas just like they talk about the Lakers because it brings in views

if they went on air and talked about detroit for 1 hour they'd shut the station off and jobs would be loss

this is how they make money

I don't know if you live outside Cowboys territory, but I do and they are mostly viewed as a joke and serve as the constant butt of jokes. It's brutal. I think Cowboys fans underestimate how much of their 'popularity' (e.g., ratings) is people loving to watch them implode. They are no different than the Yankees that way.

I agree. I still watch but I won’t buy any gear from them and I haven’t been to a game in 11 years now. If they actually do something in free agency this year I may go to the NYJ game. We’ll see.
Same here. I had my eye on the NYJ game as well.

Now MM wants to create a new offense for Dak, seven years into his career. This is just window dressing.

I have always said, Jerry the Owner over rules Jerry the GM. its about money. not championships. we are always on the edge of success, but just enough to be relevant and sell jerseys and fill the seats.
and he makes drastic moves (one or two), to sell hope when things go bad...just enough to create hope. enough hope to sell jerseys and fill the seats.
Jerry said, bad news is good for business. its about being relevant in the news.

in the meantime two real GMs in SF and Philly have done wonders.
Bingo! Jerry sells hope.

For some of us fans who've witnessed Cowboys greatness, hope and time are running out.

Beyond the lack of Lombardi’s the past 27 years, and the colors blue and silver, they’re NOT like the Lions. Dallas STILL has far more than Detroit.
It's more than just the playoff victories. Det and Dal's best players leave their franchisee and play for legitimate teams elsewhere and win a SB with them.

we are no where near close to the detroit lions lets just stop that right now

we are like the San Diego Chargers.....or more recently the Buffalo Bills

win games make the playoffs and pretty much go out in the second round or the first

but lets not compare ourselves to Detroit who hasnt won a playoff game since 1991
This.

I think mikes biggest mistake was not doing this from Day 1. The main thing IMO i thought he was bringing to the table was his offense and his work with QBs. i don’t hold the last couple of years with high maintenance manbaby rodgers against him. I think that relationship just ran its course.

The Cowboys make the playoffs every other year. The Lions do not. The Cowboys win their division every other year. The Lions do not. The Cowboys lead the league in revenue every year. The Lions do not. I could go on with the differences between the two organizations. I get that we're all frustrated, but this take is just wrong. Some of you are at the point where you hate the Cowboys so much that you falsely prop up other teams just to make the Cowboys look worse. That's fine. Just admit that that's what you're doing.

Have not bought gear in years and won't until the GM changes.

The only thing that would help the team is if all local and national media began treating Jerry like the total 27 year failure he is.
The fans yell at him in public, boo him everywhere he shows his mug.
Then you'd see change, his ego shattered.

If this team was named the Detroit lions people would realize we are in better shape than we’ve been in a long time coming off back to back 12 win seasons and postseasons. What we do in year 3 now is the question

Jerry makes sure this team remains revenue relevant and therefore the Cowboys remain in the sports media.

You can't find any sports show that covers the NFL, where Dallas doesn't have an entire segment devoted to them.

Do you ever see the Detroit Lions covered like that? No. Yet, the Cowboys are playoff relevant like Detroit.

Until the Jones focus on championships and less on the bottom line, count on 30+ years of "good enough."
right compare us to team that seemed giddy to win 7+ games as if it were their SB to team that since what go back to 2000 has a RS win% top 11 in the league, we go to playoff's and win our division far more often and haven't had a losing season since 2016, b2b 12 win seasons and a playoff win and 2 playoff wins since 2018 and always relative and competitive for a division or a playoff berth..

this post subject and rant failed miserably calling your alleged team the lions...

No the lions are lie the jets, browns, and other teams that struggle to be relative period. playoff aside, the cowboys are in a different tier of teams and always has and always will be
this is total; fail of post and sorry if you sone lie it buy al the media outlets and then run it as you seem for

what troll of post now we are the lions.

there's more to sports then just deep playoff runs.. no way the Cowboys would be the Cowboys if that were true,, You must WIN, be relative yearly, in the hunt or close to it.. that us , the lions pray to have 9 wins and not be losers year in and year out..

Lets visit the Rangers- ZERO titles since 1961, Mavs- since 1980 1 title and Stars- since 1993 One title ...3 local sports franchises together have what TWO(2) titles from 3 franchises? Jerry has 3 since 1989... lets keep some perspective. Jerry has more titles then 3 other pro sports franchises in our area,

all droughts from other franchises like what Cubs 71 years , Red sox 86years , took the eagles 60 years to win one, took KC 51 years between titles, Bengals with ZERO but 31 years between losses. there are more like i believe its 18 teams since 1996 that also have not won a SB..wasn't it 1994 for SF , skins been while for them as well.

I understand we all want want an NFCCG badly and another SB but these types of posts anger me as if Dallas is alone with droughts and fans are upset we get too much attentions and call us a team like the lions. thats not a close comp at all especially given they never won a single NFL SB EVER, let alone never even appeared in one!!

Jerry has 3 in the bank which gives him credit. 3in 30 years

he Detroit Lions are the oldest NFL team to have never appeared in a Super Bowl and the only franchise from the NFC to have never played for the trophy 1930 bud that a mega-drought..

man, this off-season sure feels like we are the lions fan base that for sure..

no way no how does any of that hold true. a real fan wouldn't think that way.. if you don't like the team , GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its easy don't follow the Cowboys in any way shape or form and you can pick another because the Jones family will be passing this team down to each other for a while..

so if that your issue is ownership and how the media gives us all the coverage and oh BTW the NFL sees the Cowboys as a cash cow as well.. they always put on the most Prime time games yearly and always gets the highest rating oh that means you must hate all who are watching that drive ratings.

LMAO

Goff threw 7 picks all year.
None in his last nine games.
I'd take Goff over Dak right now and be happy... lol
that would make you a clueless troll statement, but hey go follow the lions PLEASE leave here asap.

.. dak had 37 Tds to 10 Int in 2021 and has 166td to only 65 career ints. daks better period.. Dak has better stat line across the board more passing tds, total tds, less iNTs, better compl%, and win % and Goffs early rams day was on a far better team with far better coaching. you put Dak on that team instead of Giff and they would never had to trade for Stafford. Goff a solid payer but daks better.

That happens on every team. We notice it more when it involves our team. I’d cite examples, but it doesn’t matter enough to me to sacrifice my time. I’m lazy!
