Would Jerry be tempted to fire Schottenheimer?

Your logic is astounding.
Your thought process is superb. Like most Cowboys fans you fall for the okie doke. Bring in a career .500 coach with a recent losing record to change things. Not to mention being an p.o.s. person.

Jon Gruden had two stints with the Raiders, finishing with a combined regular season record of 60-57 (38-26 in his first run 1998-2001 and 22-31 in his second 2018-2021.

Jerra made a mistake hiring him but there’s no way he admits it with just one year into it, even if Vince Lombardi himself were to rise from the dead! Shotty’s ONLY chance is that the Jones’ fire EBERFLUS, bring in a legit DC, cut DIGGS, have a fantastic draft that includes a 1st round Offensive Tackle, a 1st round Edge Rusher and use their remaining picks in the draft on defense, a Corner, a Safety, Linebackers etc.etc. And then Shotty needs to take a class on how & when to get pissed off!! This team doesn’t seem to get tucked off at losing so I’m bringing in guys who can play but HATE losing!! This hugging guys on the other team even before the clock expires at the end of the game, who just took away your playoff hopes has got to end!

2 championship appearances and a Super Bowl,
it's been fun.
Keep your cupcake and see how far you get

Schottenheimer came up small against Detroit and Minnesota.
He’s also responsible for the defense, not just Eberflus.
The team came apart in big spots this year as well.
I might hand this team to Bill Belichick for two years.
You want to bring Bill here with his tennie booper Gf and all that Drama No thanks!

I don't disagree and there are several elements I don't like about his offense, but I like his offense better than those we had with McCarthy and Garrett.
I agree and hopefully with a better DC he can cork out some of those elements.

Jerry’s not firing Shotty. He’s the best HC they’ve had since Parcells. This isn’t Madden, it’s the NFL and Schotty led the offense to be the best in the entire league and you want to fire him? Shocking even coming from you.
Didn't Jason Garrett led us to a #1 offense a few times

Typical Cowboys fan who craves mediocrity.
What the hell. That's what you took from what I said? My Lord. I crave much better than mediocre results. Jerry craves mediocrity. I would not hire BB or someone of that ilk. I'm telling you what Jerry might do.

You know we always yell for Jerry to fire coaches and fire coordinators and it usually never ever happens but is this a time when Jerry throws us all a 3-2 curveball?

You wake up on black Monday and Schottenheimer’s Canned and Bill Belichick is spotted in the metroplex.

Or
Deion Sanders is spotted with Stephen Jones

Or
Jay Glazer is reporting that Robert Saleh will be meeting with Jerry Jones Super Bowl week.

It would not shock me whatsoever. Jerry’s got a dull head coach and a dull football team.
As he says, it’s time to spice things up…

I’m gonna say it’s 50-50. Schottenheimer is back.
This whole cluster fart of an organization can be better understood if you look at it through the lens of:
Jerry Jones and Stephen are the GMs and Head Coach due to Jerry’s undervaluing of the HC position and the role they play with the media.

Schotty is OC
Eberflus is DC

I’ve learned not to get my hopes up until the Head Coach(es) passes away.

The only hope we have is after Jerry’s passing is Stephen learns to value the HC position and/or is not threatened by a qualified string will coach with a strong personality. An Alpha male coach that the players respect and is not the players’ friend or Stephen’s friend. Or the other hope we have is some horrible scandal comes to light that forces the NFL to remove the Jones family.

Anyone but Neon Deion.

Where is Dallas #1 in offense? I see this bandied about a lot.

Yards: 3rd
Points: 5th
Yards / ply: 5th
etc.

The offense is good but it has been better in the past. Recently too.

Schottys offense is one trick pony and when defenses figure it out he cant adjust
What is the one trick? You said that a couple of times but I’m not sure what you meant.

Also, you hate this draft class?

It’s not a home run but it’s better than the last few years.

I agree with firing Jerry and Stephen 100%!

He should be back. He earned it-IMO. Hopefully upgrade the team with defensive talent

Well, you’re obviously clueless so there’s that. Let me ask you this question, who’s responsible for the #1 offense in the NFL?
Where you getting that? I think on points per game or just points in total they are ranked around 5th right now and by the end of the season I suspect they slide to 7.

Sanders has been totally exposed.

Jerry is not firing Schottenheimer because his offense was widely considered one of the best in the NFL this year.

The most likely outcome is they fire Eberflus and bring in a coaching staff that can hopefully give the offense a chance to win games next season.

Meanwhile you look at the talentless saints and Kellen Moore is getting that team playing well. Some quality wins with a rookie qb.

Jerry wouldn’t fire shotty regardless in his first season to save his own ego. I’m not impressed with shotty. Too much lip service and when it’s time to perform they fail
