Would the Cowboys be 4-1 with Dak?

How can someone, who regularly has ALL his clothes knocked off from line drives he can't catch, manages to hook so many people into "honestly" replying to an unprovable hypothetical?

Ol' lee has had a knack for it, before he joined this forum. I saw it first hand at the now-defunct Ranch.

Nope

I have seen plenty of games with Dak where the defense shuts down the opposing team yet Dak and the offense is MIA

Does everyone remember the Saints and Patriots games in 19??
Ya i remember the Saints and Pats games.

Saints game....the gme where Zeke had 35 yrds on 18 carries. The game where the first 5 possessions went as follows:

1st- Ends in a FG after Cobb has the ball hit him the the face in the end zone. Difference in the game.
2nd: Ends in a pass play where Amari was clearly pass interfered
3rd- ended on a Witten fumble after about a 30 yard gain.
4th- Ended on a Zeke fumble after a 4th and 1 conversion.
5. First drive of 2nd half...td drive.

Dak was good that game...teammates on offense failed him.

NE- It was a monsoon. Brady threw for less yards than Dak.

Absolutely.

Not only would the Cowboys be 4-1, Dak would have laid at least 30 on a couple of those teams.

Unlike those who disagree, I'm going to offer a reasonable explanation for that belief,

First of all, same Cowboys defense regardless of the starting QB. This is important because it was the defense that won the game, not the quarterback. As such, Dak would only need to score 18 points at the most, in each game.

The Cowboys would still have the same kicker, Maher influenced the outcome of the game more than Cooper Rush

Last season the Cowboys under Dak scored an average of 32.5 points. So basically, we are asking if Dak can score a little over half the average points from last year.

Also Dak has the Commanders and Giants number. He is 9-2 against the Giants, 9-1 against the Commanders.

Against the Rams, the Cowboys offense didn't get on the field until it was already 6-0 in their favor and that drive started on the Rams 20 yard line. The Rams only scored 10 points so with only a half of a quarter played, Dak would have to find a way to score 2 points in order to win.

In order to get a more realistic perspective, we should ask ourselves what Cooper Rush did for the Cowboys to win 4 straight and then compare that to Dak's last four starts.

Last Four Starts

Cooper Rush 65-115-775- 4TD-0INT

Dak Prescott 87-133-985-12TD-1INT

There is nothing to indicate that Dak wouldn't have the same record for those four games, quite the contrary. It wouldn't have been close.

Dak has been lousy taking care of the football, too many interceptions, fumbles and sacks as well. That puts tremendous pressure on the defense. Rush is not nearly as talented as Dak but has played clean. That is huge and why we are winning.
That is blatantly untrue.

In his last four starts, Dak has one turnover, the same as Cooper Rush.

For the 2021 season, Dak was tied for the 7th lowest INT rate.....with Tom Brady..

Be honest; if Dak hadn't gotten hurt in the 19-3 drubbing at the hands of Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, who believes the Cowboys would have won the next four games?
Do you think a Dak led offense would have beat Cincinnati and Los Angeles- last year's Super Bowl teams- and the now 4-1 Giants and 2-4 "Commanders" in a 4 game stretch?

No way Dak has a winning drive to win the game vs Cinn.
No way he comes back with 2 TD drives after the Giants go up 13-6.
No way he survives (in his panic-riddled mind) from turning over the ball multiple times vs the Rams.

Hard to say, since Dak wasn't available to prove anything, yea or nay!
That's the ticket; keep asking more questions without answers! :muttley:

Why don't you ask Micah Parson??

These clips are revealing and are really key. Dak has his flaws. No doubt. But when you listen to what his teammates say about who he is on and off the field— you simply shouldn’t doubt the man’s character, heart, work ethic, or competitiveness. I understand teammates won’t throw a guy under the bus publicly normally, but what Diggs and MP are saying goes WELL beyond normal “player speak”. They are throwing 4 some serious respect and accolades.

The fanbase may be divided on Prescott, but the people who are around him each and every day don’t have a negative thing to say about him. That matters.

IMO— there is a very good chance we would be 4-1 with Dak at QB because it has been the defense that has been leading the way this year anyway— not the offense. Give Rush his props for holding down the fort— but you can’t make an argument from silence and declare that somehow Dak would NOT have won the games Cooper did.

No. I feel if Dak played his normal game and Kellen called his normal plays with Dak then we lose to either Rams or Giants. Moving forward if Kellen calls the same type of plays he has with Rush using Dak as the QB then we will be very good. If they rely on the run game and string defense and not treat Dak like he's Mahomes then we'll be more successful on offense and still dominate on defense. Dak playing the same conservative gameplan Rush is playing will put up 10-17 more points per game and with our D we would be scary good. Also this is coming from someone who is NOT a Dak fan but looking at the situation with no agenda that's what I come up with. If Jerry, Stephen and Moore try to prove Dak is the best QB in the NFL and have him passing 30-40 times a game to rack up stats then we will be disappointed in the end. Meaning he'll get his stats like he has in the past and we'll be thumped by playoff teams.

For those who said "yes", would you mind telling the rest of us what happened to Dak with the Buccaneers?
The defense held the Buccaneers to 19 points.

You sound like the Romo bashers who said the same thing about him after the first game vs the Niners in 2014. He played like crap and threw three picks and only 1 TD and we lost mainly because of his poor play.
He ended up having his best season of his career in 2014.

Its not like there’s precedent for Dak scoring 40 on NFC East teams

Oh wait, he’s actually done that more often than not over his last 8 starts against them. Never mind.
I know. The East has been horrible. Looking better this year though.

For all those saying that with Dak Dallas would be 4-1 please show proof of that statement or else stop saying yes.....just like anyone saying no.

Those that claim Dallas would be 4-1 with Dak and that Dak would have "dropped 30+" against teams are nothing more than Dak cheerleaders. Those that say Dallas would not be 4-1 with Dak are nothing more than Dak detractors.

All of you got baited and it's sad to see.

This is a purely hypothetical question which can't be answered so unless you have a crystal ball this is a pointless thread.

Dallas is 4-1, o-1 with Dak and 4-0 with Rush....those are the facts so stop the idiocy and just be happy that Dallas is playing Philly for the lead in the NFC East.
