Would you be mad if the Cowboys spent more on outside FA this year, than resigning their own?

Osa and Gholston can go bye-bye. It should not be a big lift to replace their production. We should be focused on improving on what we had there the last few years.
Osa's production will be hard to replace for what they can spend in FA...seriously..

I think we need a balance to this. For example to lose Turpin would be bad for the return game regardless of who were to sign for that part of the team.
it depends. Turpin as a return man is a luxuary than a necessity. depends on how much he wants and if that additional money can be added to get an impact player for DL.

I feel the exact same way!!!!!!!!! They're going to price themselves out of here, lock up Micah and Smith, sign some FA's

I personally think he's now ready to take the next step and contribute on the offense. He can be like our Tank Dell.

Turpin to me is here depending on what Brian S whats to do with him on offense, he is worth every penny on ST for sure but getting value from him on the offense makes him a no brainer.

well then you stay away from that position, or see if you can make a trade, the guy from the colts who ME worked with a few years ago. Or you draft!!

No, not at all. We been in need of a roster turnover. Now they do need to keep some of their own. , but others can be replaced with equal players. They kind of started that last year. Jerry and son stupidly may have lucked into making this turnover happen.
Does anyone think they had a plan for this.

you add good Depth rotation to OSA and pray like hell Mazi wakes up, we have too many holes to reach on a DT this draft.

given we lack a true WR2, we are throwing a bunch of WR3 at the problem. Turpin, Tolbert, etc. are all part of that. for me, he dropped a few key passes in some games at crucial times. he made a few plays in other games. so its a combination of good and bad. not ready to committ a lot of dollars to him.

if they see him as a true contributor on offense....as for ST's value, I have not doubt, but can we take the 4M extra we would pay him and sign a good DT, that can help on every snap on defense and shore up run defense and pass rush up the middle, vs. the few extra yards or returns we get.....

I have hope that one of our guys will step up into a WR2 role. But, then again, I wouldn't be mad if we sign someone or draft another one. I really wanted Josh Downs. Many didn't think he'd be that great, being a smaller WR. But he's been pretty good in Indy. I think a player like that would compliment Lamb well.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I'll be scoping out WRs in this draft soon, too. To me, Tolbert seems like he's ready to take yet another step. I almost lost hope for him, then he kind of finally stepped it up this year.

i would think we are getting a WR in the draft how early is the question.

why would anyone be mad. we had the 29th ranked run defense. we had the 31st ranked defense over all...why bring back the same guys who contributed (or lack there of) to this mess.

the challenge is FAs who are good are going to be over priced. so jerry will resign a couple of our own guys cheap, claiming contract issues and cap issues.
then sign a few jags and cross his fingers. and then mid year next year, when defense still sucks, he will say, we expected x, got y and we are going to address this, and our hands were tied and the young guys we drafted in the 6th and 7th round are just not playing at the level we expect and the spin continues.

this thing, with cowboys and jerry jones is about to explode like a sack of poop being dropped from 20 story building. just wait until 2025. it will be much worse.
This is realistic. The OP was being totally hypothetical
