Sure, why not. Trade Romo and let Jason handpick his own superman who is supposed to account for 90% of the offense single handidly.

Getting a 1st rounder from the raiders this year (add romo to their team now) you are talkin about topics from 20-25 AT BEST. HELL TO THE NO. And the same for next years pick. Awful trade.

This. Romo easily takes the Raiders to the playoffs. Hell, he might win them a superbowl.

no, i do watch NBA and I know what the perception of Dirk was ....and Romo has always had weapons, yes thats true.....but hes never had an O line worth a ****...and rarely had a defense that wouldnt surrender any lead the offense built

No. Here's why:

Troy Aikman... then:
Anthony Wright
Quincy Carter
Ryan Leaf
Clint Stoerner
Chad Hutchinson
Vinny Testeverde (at 78 years old)
Drew Henson
Drew Bledsoe (at 58 years old)
And finally, we lucked into Tony Romo.

Finding a starting caliber QB in the NFL is hard business. There are too many Akili Smith's, Vince Young's, Cade McNown's, Jamarcus Russell's, Matt Leinert's, J.P. Losman's, Andre Ware's, Joey Harrington's, Tim Couch's, and David Carr's out there that LOOK like they are the next great thing only to be terrible NFL QB's.

When you find one that can play, you keep him. Romo can play.

This.

Romo has way too much of the load in this current offense. He's asked to do way too much. I guess Tecmo Bowl isn't as easy to play with real life NFL players.

If Romo was threatening to retire and wasn't going to play for us? Yes.

Otherwise, not a chance.

Romo is much better than Palmer. Can't believe the Raiders gave up that much for him.

Dirk got over with help from Carlisle. Shaq and Kobe only got over after Phil Jackson was hired.

Romo has the ginger form of Avery Johnson right now. Makes a difference.

No. I mean Bill Parcells. The guy who is responsible for the Cowboys no longer being a downtrodden 5-11 team every year with no talent to speak of.

This is one thing that we can agree on. Parcells should get a lot more credit than he actually does around here.

I'm not willing to bet the team's future on Romo. And there are other good QBs in the draft besides Luck.

Sure there are. Question is can you pick them? If you guarantee that you will pick up a future All Pro/Hall of Famer....I do it too.

It's closer to the truth than you imagine.

Raiders has an excellent run game and defense. They just need a QB then presto! That' why they are giving up an arm and leg for Palmer. Cowboy fans should take note.....there's no 1800-SuperQBS.

A more valid question might be, do you think the Raiders would have traded a first- and second-round pick for Romo?

If so, then that should tell you all you need to know about his value.

If not, go look at Carson Palmer's career numbers compared to Romo's — lower completion percentage, higher int-to-TD rate, lower QB rating.

No you obviously don't watch NBA becuz Dirk consistently came up small in the clutch moments in the playoffs until this year. He had help, Dallas pretty much the last decade has consistently had one of the deepest and most talented teams in the NBA.

You obviously just became a Mavs fan because the year they won 67 games Dirk was guarded by the Stephen Jackson in the 1st round and "choked" away. Dirk had the same perception as Romo does.

He put up 19 points on 38%shooting against a 6'8 small forward. So let's don't pretend like Dirk didn't have his struggles as well. Dirk has played with numerous all stars throughout his career.

Nowitzki's playoff production places him among the all-time elite. He's one of five players with career playoff averages of at least 25 points and 10 rebounds, joining Elgin Baylor, Hakeem Olajuwon, Bob Pettit and Shaquille O'Neal.

No one is denying that. We are speaking about "perception" and after Dirk and the Mavs were up 2-0 and lost 4 games straight in the Finals and the following year won 67 games and lost in the 1st round to the Warriors who almost didn't even make the playoffs the Mavs and Dirk were considered "chokers". Dirk was MVP of the league that year and in that 1st round series put up 19 points on 38% shooting.

Dirk Choked? First off Capt Jack only guarded him about 30% of the time and he still averaged 20 in that series. And was doubled constantly. Sorry.

Look Dirk is a top 5 playoff scorer ever. He consistently has won playoff games and basically owned a teeam with 3 of the top 10 in the league this year and won a ring. Romo cant even hold a 24 pt lead. Romo is beyond a choker. The loser cant even hold a kick for an extra point when the pressure is on. He is not a big game player.

No he average 19 points on 38% shooting. I'm not arguing Dirk's greatness. But the poster said Romo and Dirk had a similar perception and they did. And superstars are doubled constantly all game. You think Kobe sees single defenders lol? Dirk had a bad series. Whether it was because of him or the Warriors I don't know or care. But the perception Dirk had in his career was that he was a choker. Especially after that NBA Finals series. If you can't see that you either don't remember it or weren't a fan yet.
