Would you trade Marion Barber for a 1st?

I think I would.

RB's are generally easy to find, we could get another Barber/Choice in 4th-5th round. Also Im much more worried about the OL and secondary than RB. I really wouldnt be worried about Choice and Felix starting. If healthy, they will be more than enough to win, wed need another vet/draft pick as insurance, but that wouldnt be as hard to find as a tackle, or safety.

Unless theres a huge cap hit that hurts for multiple years.

Barring that, Id trade him for the Cardinals pick(31st). Nice spot for a LT(Beatty), S(Sean Smith) or another pass rusher(Barwin, Sintim)

Hmm thats a tough one.

A high/mid first? Maybe. Anything above 15 though, no.

While he may not be a workhorse capable of carrying the ball 30 times a game, he is a special talent. If he can get back to playing like the Marion Barber of old and stop dancing around so much, he is one of the better backs in the league.

He does it all. He blocks well, he can catch passes out of the backfield, and does not go down on first contact. Always keeps his legs moving and falls forward. He just needs to stop dancing so much. Teams have enough film on him now that they know he likes to bounce outside and use his stifarm, so to counter he needs to stop dancing, hit the hole, and get the tough yards. With a RB rotation and a fresh Barber, I think we see him rejuvenated and have a nice YPC average unlike his weak 3.7 of last year.

nope. i bet this wouldn't be discussed if he didn't get hurt and have a down year. the only thing he's missing is speed but he does everything else very well.

no i wouldnt......im not all that ready to put that much faith in Choice or Felix yet...Ive seen too many flash in the pan rbs ...Barber is a proven bulldozer, good guy, and keeps his mouth shut ...a true football guy

Remember how many RBs got injured for the Cowboys last year? Not every rookie is a good Choice. Right now we have enviable depth at that position.

I'd wait til next year and let the new coach's playbook help make the decision.

No I wouldn't. His cap hit alone would be a deal breaker..Plus he's more valuable than picking up a late first rounder.

I would of considered it either way. And its not a knock on Barber, just discrimanating against his position.

Im also factoring in the wear and tear hes taken.

There are cap ramafactations, but with everything being equal, and if the cap didn't exist.

Yes. For a pick in the top 10

There are only 2 players right now wearing a Dallas Cowboy uniform that I wouldn't trade for a 1st rounder(Top 10).

If it was for a 1st and a decent RB/CB/WR who could also be a punt returner I would do it.

*I dont think Jerry wants any part of a top 10 pick*

3, Your forgetting Romo or Witten

The Eagles might take Moreno before the Cards can. If your Arizona, do you take Beanie Wells, or trade for Marion Barber?

Its not a Madden trade, it would be worth considering

As much as I liked Choice and Felix, we've all seen guys come in for a few games (Hambrick, Jones) and then not pan out.

With Barber, you've seen him do well for an entire season.

With Choice and Jones back, I think that Barber will go back to his closer role, and will be kept fresher. Barber should be getting 15 touches a game, with the other 2 backs picking up 5-8/ game.

I think the presence of Felix Jones had as much to do with us letting go of Owens than Williams/Austin

Depends on who you think you can target with the pick and what your needs are. Barber healthy is a load. But he's not indispensible esp looking at him over an extended time period. I'm still not sure he's going to last long in this league all the while hoping I'm wrong. Best answer I can give for him.

Pretty sure he isnt tradable because of the cap.

The time to trade him was last yr before we gave him that huge contract. We'd have probably got more for him then and we'd be clear of that extremely large contract. I like MBIII, but he wasnt worth that kind of money.

It's posible he will be the 3rd best RB on this team this yr and if so, he's a huge bust considering that contract.
