Precisely. Funny how I never see Tony Dungy going on tirades or ripping on his players. But then I also remember when he was called "too nice" and a loser who would never get it done.

The parallels to Dungy are pretty stark. I think if you give Wade 3 more years here, he'll win a Super Bowl at least once. And yet many people wouldn't even be happy with that.

He was right. Anyone that thinks the Giants are a more talented team than us just doesn't know anything about football. We even played better than they did yesterday. We outgained them by over 100 yards, had more first downs, and held the ball 13 more minutes. We only gave up 230 yards. Our mistakes cost us the game. Penalties, dropped passes, etc. They are not better than us.

We're clearly the better team. We've beaten them twice by more than 10 points (and those games shouldn't have even been as close as they were). In this game, we held the ball 36 minutes, had 300 yards to their 200, yet we still lost.

As a side note, Wade's defense really shines in the second year. So if Roy sucks next year, he is gone...

If Roy is starting SS next year, we're in the same boat. The thing about defense is that the weakest link gets exploited. You can't hide an incredibly weak link. With Williams and Reeves on the field, we will never have a dominant defense. I think Wade will figure that out this off season.

Unfortunately, in sports (any sport) the best team doesn't always win. Sometimes it's simply the team that plays best on a given day wins. As I said before, we actually played better than the Giants yesterday from a statistical standpoint. We simply made mistakes and our special teams played like crap. If the most talented team ALWAYS won, they'd play the games on paper. I'm not making any excuses for the blown opportunity we had, I'm just saying we're a team on the rise and everyone should realize that.
