WR Treashon Holden Hype

Most definitely. Pickens made a sparse room very crowded very quick. Guys like Flournoy, Copper and maybe even Tolbert suddenly on bubble too
I don't think Tolbert is on the bubble, but if they have 4-5 guys playing well its not out of the realm of possibility the Cowboys field trade calls for him.

So all before OTAs are even over you’ve deemed his chances to even make the PS as Uphill? that seems like even a worse take than the ones who already have him making the game day roster…
It's an uphill battle for any UDFA, y'all act like he was a 5th round pick or something. There was another UDFA WR the Cowboys signed who received a higher guarantee than Holden. Seems like you don't know how money goes in the NFL. Go ahead and tell me how a $3,000 WR is going to take the position of several $1M dollar WRs in front of him.

Go ahead and tell me how he has no shot.

I don't know. After the first five, I don't feel that any of the others have much of an advantage. Flournoy and Brooks were both late-round picks, so perhaps they have a slight advantage, but I think it will be whoever looks better from among them, Campbell, Holden, Cropper, Harmon and Kelly.

What I find funny is fans pick pet cats, and Holden seems to be one, and sometimes it's the player who doesn't get talked about that shows out. Wouldn't surprise me if Kelly outplays Holden.
I had forgotten about Harmon. Another guy that's better than the anointed ones.

This Sports Illustrated writer says Holden has a good chance to make the team because of his ties to Junior Adams, as well as his 83.3% catch rate.

Dubbed “undrafted and dangerous” by Warren, Holden stands 6-foot-3 and 205 and is a specialist at bringing in contested passes. Warren believes his style of play aligns with Brian Schottenheimer’s vision, which is why he predicts Holden will make the 53-man roster.

”He posted an elite 83.3% catch rate in 2024, which was nearly 19% above expectation based on route depth,” Warren wrote. “That consistency and reliability make him a natural fit for Schottenheimer’s ball-control offense, which values precision over flash.”

When you quote me and use the term "Y'all" in that context, you start by telling me where I said he is going to make the 53.

That being said, that's a horrible point. The team will keep the best players on the 53, not the ones they gave a larger bonus to and if anyithng teams like nothing more than keeping cheap guys to fill out the roster because it helps with the cap. The fact that he received a $3K bonus is about the most meaningless point I've heard in this entire discussion. You act as if they pick the roster in April and not in August after a full offseason program. If they think he is a player, they'll keep him. Whether a guy has $100K guaranteed or $3K is meaningless in relation to a cap that is over $200M. And what is a million dollar WR? You do understand that the second any player makes the 53 he basically becomes a million dollar player, don't you? Every season we have an UDFA that makes the team and drafted players who don't. At least one UDFA will most likely make this team again this season.

I'll make my point again on the bottom of the roster WRs so it is clear to you. If we keep 6 WRs on the roster the last two spots (at a minimum) are going to come down to playing STs.The #5&6 WRs (even if on the game day roster) aren't getting many snaps on offense all year but will need to not just be on return teams, but also run down on kickoff and punt coverage units every week and not all WRs can or are willing to do this. Even if there are injuries, with the new PS call up rules it is just as easy to call a guy up for the week if you need him to play snaps on offense. So STs will determine those spots.

I'm thinking that 4 players are locks.
Lamb
Pickens
Mingo
Turpin
4 others playing for 1 or 2 spots.
Tolbert
Flournoy
Cropper
Brooks
We now have excellent depth.
For once we agree!

When an area of our team becomes a TRUE strength, I'm totally on board with that phrase

You don't know professional football is a business to say the money is meaningless is pure ignorance on your part.

Ignorance is not understanding that with a cap of over $200M that there is no difference between $3K and $100K and like I said, whomever makes the team becomes a million dollar player so the numbers you are throwing out there are totally insignificant. And again, the roster isn't picked in April when bonuses are doled out.

Lol, ok, we'll see. Keep this energy till September.

Correct. Not to mention, Romo got 5k, I think it was.

Plus, Junior Adams may have brought him in for a reason. I mean, a bunch of JAGs in Dallas after Pickens, maybe Tolbert. Then he brings in his guy with a skill set he likes. On top of that, Adams has a history of coaching up late round players nobody thought much of.

Physically. Yes.
But he is not a good WR. He has sucked for two years now
According to Bobby Belt, they like him and he has looked good in both open practices so far. I'll add that the best qb play that he has ever had was with Dart in college and he looked good then.

If Tolbert "somehow beats out Mingo."

Lol

One of those kids is doing his own thing.
I've seen nothing from Tolbert in his tenure, quite honestly. He could be replaced with just about anyone. Mingo has way more upside in my opinion.
