I'm not too impressed. I'm not saying guys can't come from a small school and produce, but his production is against future used car salesmen and accountants. His most productive games came against UTEP and UNT.

From the videos I have seen, he seems really slow to react and doesn't wrap up. Some atrocious angles in pursuit, as well. To me, he looks like JJ Wilcox, which I guess is fine, considering where he was taken.

I hope this was just a bad day for him. Burned multiple times and not a factor at all in run support.

And what is your profession that makes you qualified to judge, as long as we are talking about professional qualifications. The fact is, even in the SEC, the vast majority of players are future used car salesmen and accountants.

What the hell are you talking about? If all he is, is JJ Wilcox with clearly superior ball hawk skills, that is a great get for a 6th rounder, and a clear cut NFL starter. No idea why you would be in any way disappointed with that. What do you want from a 6th round pick? Wilcox himself was a 3rd rounder.

Ex of mine is ULM alum, and boy does she talk them up.
Funny. This is a thread generating unnecessary bashing of an intelligent and very good LaTECH football player--mostly due to lack of personal knowledge of the player. A ULM grad, who has been aware of the player since he was in high school, extends a justifiable compliment of said player and ignites some ULM bashing.

Crazy? Nah. It's CowboysZone. :p

The professionals didn't take him until the 6th round, so I guess we can just leave it at that.

Many factors go into that, that have nothing to do with talent. I think we saw that with La'el Collins. Using draft rounds as a proxy for talent is just lazy.

I never said he didn't have talent, now did I? Last time I checked, this guy wasn't potentially involved in killing a pregnant woman.

No, he isn't. But the point is that there is a myriad of reasons a player falls. Taking Charlton in the first, when he had a second round grade, for example. Team need. Perceived quality of competition. The list goes on and on.

Sure, but he fell to the bottom of the draft, with no character issues. You asked me what makes me qualified to judge. I never claimed to be a professional scout or draft expert. The people who are, decided not to take him until late in the draft. The obvious deduction is that the teams didn't like him, based on what they saw.

Don't be so narrow minded, Bob. With respect. Let's wait and see. There's All-Pro dbs that have fallen in the draft (Chancellor, Harris Jr. to name a couple), just to hi-light the fallacy of that arguement.

That's fine. All I am saying is that if you hang your hat on the experts, that knife cuts both ways. The experts thought Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf were first rounders. I've probably seen him play by a factor of ten more than others here and I think he's a baller. I'm no professional, but I've seen football played long enough to see a S when I see one. Is he going to be better than the first rounders? Probably not. But he can still be prettt dang good.
