Nowhere in my post did I say he was THE reason.

Do I think he is part of the reason as to why we went 9-7 and missed the playoffs?

Absolutely.

But if he's merely part of the reason the team isn't winning, then how can you say "the team is good enough to win without him?"

If the team is already good enough to win without him, but they don't, then removing him from the equation should allow them to achieve their "winning without him" status.

Nowhere did theebs mention that they're good enough to win without him "so long as Wade Phillips is fired" or "so long as Jason Garrett grows a brain" or "so long as other problems are also eliminated."

I kind of wish that they do cut T.O...Just so the pro T.O and the anti T.O people would stop fighting over petty crap they have no control over. Please stop living through the Dallas Cowboys.

Nah, the two factions would just find another player to latch onto.

But this is a message board and just like fans have their favorite players, people here have them too.

What is always funny is that you will see 2 cliques fighting about one player or another, then that player leaves and then another player becomes the focal point and people that were bitter enemies before are now on the same side. I saw this with Quincy Carter, Drew Henson, Bill Parcells and too many others to mention. As a matter of fact, there are two posters going at right now that were always on the same side when it came to Bill Parcells  .

If Witten and Romo go into Jerrys home and say " We can't play with Owens" then he is gone. Thats all it's going to take. Romo and Witten have alot of power in this position.

They would but they can't fly in fast enough because DT71 thinks they live in Maine.

Well I can tell you I wont. I didnt before and I wont in the future.

I will always jump in here and there with the parcells arguments though because I always see people getting thier history and their facts wrong.

but as far as players go, you can count me out. I like the rest of this team. We have good people here who have been given a bad rap because of 3 guys.

but I will say that if I had to guess the next player will be bennett.

and by the way bennett will be at ticketstock tomorrow in plano. I imagine he will have some funny things to say about his rap, so that should get some headlines.

Interesting theory about Bennett. I don't know if he will be that talented of a player or occupy an important enough role to be that devisive on Cowboyszone.

Personally, I believe when Terrell Owens is gone, the most polarizing player will either be Roy11 or quite possibly Tony Romo as I believe there are several posters ready to turn on Tony Romo if he doesn't manage to win a Playoff Game next year.

More interesting will be which posters clique up and what "legendary" beefs will emerge :lmao2: .

good point about romo. Locally, Every station I listen to here over the past month just as many people want him removed as owens.

So romo could be that guy.

So the media makes stuff up right?

You mean like using headline titles that the story doesn't even quote?

Or just choosing their own title like you did here while quoting a story with a different title?

Nope. never.

No media member would ever say Reeves left he cause he didn't want to sell seats int he stadium only to get told by that very person he actually volunteered to do so. Nope. Media good. Cowboys bad.

Good gosh...just end the circus b/s Jerry

I know!! All Romo has to do is say those magic words to Jerry and TO's gone!! I just want a decision now so all the bickering back and forth between the TFC and Realists would come to a halt, because once he's gone there's no bringin him back for the TFC!

Id rather go 9-7 without him than with him.

and stay tuned, I think this team gets better without him.

Especially in the second half of the season. This will force us to rely on the running game more, which will only help the entire team over the course of 16 games.

We have more than enough to win with. Only fools equate wr to championships.

You are sooo right. Its not like the Cards just made the Super Bowl because of Fitzgerald or anything. And it was clearly the Pittsburgh running game that keep them in the game and allowed them to win it.

Does anyone honestly believe Tony would say that?

Come on now.

If anything, Tony would probably make a pitch to keep him...I don't think he'll ever forget how instrumental T.O. was in his ascension to Pro Bowl starting QB. He strikes me as a truly gracious person.

As long as Jerry's not talking to Bobby Carpenter, he's going to hear basically nothing but positive things about Terrell...and I have sources who are better informed regarding that one.

Tonys not tired of TO?? okay I highly doubt that. I'd be glad to have that constant chirping in my ear "Cmon man I'm open..you didnt see me? I'm wide open, give me the ball"..not to mention all the negatives he brings to my huddle and team. Witten I'm sure feels the same way. They both just play it off in interviews but I know they can't stand the guy.

Witten has already spoken since the season ended about how the team is better with Owens and that they don't need to be choir boys or hold hands to win together. He made it pretty clear he isn't a big T.O. fan but enjoys his presence on Sundays when it matters.

Most players unlike silly fans respect talent and the amount of talent it takes to dominate games.

Terrell may be an egomaniac but aren't Bill Parcells, Jerry Jones, Jimmy Johnson, Michael Irvin and many others???

T.O.'s teams have won 10 or more regular season games already 8 times in the NFL. He has two more 9 win seasons. That means he has experienced only 3 seasons out of 13 where his team finished below .500 and one of those was in Philly where they 4-3 when they suspended him and managed to go 2-7 with him suspended. When he was jettisoned from San Fran he left a team that won 7 games with the 9th ranked offense in the league. The next year? They won 2 games and ranked 30th in offense.

I'd be awful sure I could succeed to win games without T.O. because this though that teams just get magically better when he leaves is false as can be. The Eagles haven't returned to the Super Bowl or reached more than 10 wins and the San Fran group hasn't even reached .500 once....

Yes.
I seem to remember Jamie Dukes asking Demarcus Ware if Jerry and the Cowboys have contacted him and his agent about a contract?
Demarcus Ware" If you believe the newspapers...Yes. If you ask me...No. I haven't heard a thing and I think I would know."
Must have been another anonymous source.

I am sure Tony would rather throw to his old roommate then win games....

This is not the way athletes work. They may fist fight because they dislike each other but they don't try to play with lesser talent over anger.

I expect players to tell Jerry they need Terrell Owens to be a better team mate and to take direction but I do not expect them to tell him they can't play with the guy. The fact Jerry is calling players over coaches tells me T.O. stays.

Any player who says he can't play with another to me would be a red flag in a huge way. If winning is the ultimate goal then someone being a baby or an idiot shouldn't derail you from doing your job to win; as long as they perform in the game that is all that should matter. That's why players will always say so and so shouldn't be suspended or treated too harshly for any and all actions until it is clear a guy is gone.

Great. More anonymous sources. No wonder it's so easy to fool people nowadays. Seriously, how often are anonymous sources ever questioned for being wrong? When do you ever hear someone say anything after the fact? It just gets swept under the rug, and more anonymous sources pop up repeating the same theme.
