Zeke is a fat selfish overpaid money grubbing turd. You hold out two years early for the biggest RB contract ever and this is what we get? I will be so happy when he is a distant memory.

Zero controversy with this. This team will play it's best football when Zeke and Pollard are both healthy and getting touches. Two weeks ago Pollard had 14, yesterday he had 15. No reason we can't get both of these guys around that number each week.

Personally, I like Zeke in that opener/closer role, and would give Pollard the bulk of snaps the rest of the game probably fitting Zeke into those short yardage carries and passing downs. That said though as long as you are rotating them and keeping them fresh the rest will work itself out.

Yup. Being a good blocker and getting "tough yards" (whatever) is something a team can get for a much lower cost.

The problem is Zeke’s role needs to be reduced and Pollards increased. It needs to be like it was yesterday with Pollard starting drives not Zeke.
A great problem to have.

Zeke is a power runner at this point in his career. It would suck if we didn't have a homerun hitter, but we do! 21 & 20 are a great duo.

Been saying for years Pollard needs 10-15 carries a game. And they proved he can do that without making him max protect too much. This should be the blue print going forward

He gets that many with zeke. Sounds like yall really want him to get 20-25 out of spite which says more about you guys.

If it's 3rd and 2, I feel better with Zeke in, but it's also VERY game flow dependent. Zeke is a grinder, TP will house it. Both are good backs.
Yesterday when we needed 1 yard for the first down late in the game, I was wishing we had Zeke.
I saw the unbalanced line and Pollard running laterally, and I thought "No, Moore, you and your stupid calls on 3rd and short!"
Then Pollard skipped through and scored from 54 yards out.

I think Pollard is the guy; he also runs hard inside. On 4th and short, I like them both in the game. Game on the line with 1-2 to go to score, I'll take Zeke. The reality is that it doesn't matter who starts the game, Zeke is the better pass protector, and Pollard is better at almost everything else. Pollard needs to keep getting 14-20 touches per game; Zeke can have the others. However, I liked what we saw from our rookie as well.

Funny how there's worry about Pollard having a greater load, but it's Zeke who is constantly hurt and waving himself out of games.

Have you been watching the games through the years? Zeke has been the workhorse back for years taking punishment contact grinding out the tough yards. Our fan base is full of dumb people I see why we are disliked.

This. Zeke is used more in short yardage and goaline packages, so his apc will be lower. He is also a much better pass protector.

I don’t know why there are fans who think we have to love one and hate the other lol…

He averaged 3 carries a game last year and i specified carries not just touches. His big runs typically come off the carries and he needs 10-15 per game.

LOL… “waving himself out of games”

The guy played most of last year on a partially torn PCL. Should he have played? That’s a different discussion. IMO— the coaches should not have left that up to him— but IMO— Zeke gets props for playing his guts out and trying his best to help the team.

He finished last game with a grade 2 MCL strain lol… he is tough as nails and deserves more respect for what he has accomplished than what he gets from a lot of this fan base

This.

See a lot of black n white thinking on this. Labeled a hater or troll if they want Pollard to start, or extreme positions or excuses to justify the position.

Bottom line is Pollard needs more carries and Zeke needs less. So freaking obvious that Pollard can make the plays that Zeke can’t with the ball. Can he hold up? I don’t know, we’ll see. But at some point, Westbrook, Sproles, (all of whom Pollard is bigger) and all the famous small fast backs got a chance to prove their every down worth. You can’t keep talent like that on the bench if you want to score. I would think most Cowboys Fans were on board with it when Jimmy publicly proclaimed it last year on FOX. Talk about a coach we all know and who does not mess around with underperforming or diminished talent. Zeke playing better this year but he’s beat up.

100%

I think we have fans that have fallen in love with the idea of Zeke being the next great Cowboys running back. I’ve got news for folks…Zeke probably ain’t seeing 10,000 yards in Dallas and when he does he’ll be close to done.
I have a friendly bet right now with a poster that bet me Zeke would break 1,000 yards this season.

I thought that was a no brainer for me to take the under there lol

I know Zeke is tough and I respect it.

That has nothing to do with wanting the player that gives us the best chance to win playing in the games.

That player is clearly Pollard.

Pollard should be getting the bulk of the carries while Zeke becomes the change of pace guy.
