Mostly agree. Austin is a threat. Not having him hurt us IMO.

Saying it over and over won't make it so.

Ok. Here's criticism you shouldn't ignore. Sounds as if this can be changed. This is on TO and the coaches.

I can't argue with this but if he's not open don't throw it to him. Someone has got to find a way to confront TO and tell him to run better routes, get separation, we'll find a way to scheme you better and maximize your talents for certain routes, and get in Romo's face for throwing into crowds. He doesn't just do it with TO. He forces it period. I do agree we've been guilty of forcing it to TO but Romo is the one to do or not do that.

They could tell me all day to throw it to TO no matter what. I wouldn't do it unless he was open.

Then you would need to be prepared to get burned in the press at owens first chance. Doesn't matter who you are, a coach or player.
If he doesn't get the ball he cries like a toddler having a tantrum.

He's always open, ask him.;)

Why in the world would Jones give him a big contract and then can him.

No way he dumps Owens.

Plenty of stuff to fix that doesn't involve Owens.

btw....if we had a coach that had some fortitude...next time Ownes drops a ball...stick him on the bench for a series. Hurd, Austin, Crayton and those guys can carry on just fine!

Sensible sentiments.

I also agree with YoMick's last comment - Romo isn't beyond blame. I just don't want a receiver who, himself makes a lot of gaffes, call other people out publicly or privately.

My mantra has always been, "Look in the mirror first."

Wow powerful statement their my friend, you are right...lets talk about the problems that don't involve Owens.

1. We have an ineffective DC who was replaced by the HC who is coming back next year (BS)

2. We have an OC who made 3 million ...paid more than the HC who was laughable in his playcalling this year, ED REED said that the Cowboys offense was simple, what he really meant was inferior and predicable...the argument that a team can play the same 7 plays and win the game obviously doesn't know our Cowboys team very good this year.

3. We have a Secondary that for most of the year was pathetic...pathetic TACKLING...pathetic coverage and Overrated.

4. We have an OL that was exposed in Mid-season of being just average..Romo was sacked way too much which resulted in too many INT's because of Romo's tendency of "trying to make something happen" that's probably every defense's stragety against us EVERY TIME.

5. We have a HC who is terrible at personnel decisions and doesn't instill fear into our team, doesn't motivate our players...

6. Saving the best for last..PENALTIES...we are the most PENALIZED team in the NFL or very close to being #1 (hey atleast we got #1 in something)

I dont' see TO being involved in any of these bullets, not one...so see
we got problems, and TO isn't one of them, TO hardly makes any penalties...TO isn't on the OL....TO isn't on DEF....TO doesn't call any plays.......as a matter of fact Teams tried, and they succeeded, in taking TO out of games because they KNOW that TO is our most dangerous weapon...so you guys want the GUY that our opposing teams FEAR gone next year???? Geee....hey barber and Jones what do you guys think about that...you guys want to see a lot of 8 man boxes next year??? don't think so.

If more players on our team had the desire and will like TO does we would probably win more games....it's time to move on guys...our team has lots of problems and believe me if some of you believe TO is one of them, he has like #100 believe it.

I am ALL FOR calling TO for his mistakes/missed assignments/poor routes on the field etc.. etc... EACH and EVERY time.

But a better prepared team and some smarter playcalling and we could be golden.

Instead we are copper that appears to be golden depending on the light.

Yep, cried all the way to the Super Bowl against the Pats with T.O. on one leg.

Keep trying. I love how the media has pulled the wool over your eyes.
Here's some more wool.

Terrell Owens' game-by-game participation during the 2004 season:

My apologies for the interruption. Back to the thread.

Mike Golic brought it up on Mike & MIKE. Do we keep the man who has been the one bright spot when it comes to overall stats on offense? Or do we dump him because we are looking for more team chemistry?

TO GO

If I'm Jerry, I call Owens in and have a heart to heart with him. It would go somthing like this;

You have ONE year to prove you can be a functional leader of this team. Fix whatever it is that happened this year TO. You have the off season to kiss and make up with Romo and Wit. You WILL work on curing the cancer that you were a part of in that locker room, and you will become the team player that you were in 2007.

I am under a lot of pressure to dump yer butt, and by all rights I should. I'm giving you a chance to cover my &%%. Do it and stay away from the media, or I'll dump you like the Pman. The only team that will touch you when I'm done are the Raiders.

I actually like this idea. But the threat of being cut would actually have to followed through. I doubt that would happen, so best to just part ways now.
