So do a lot of bums from the Dallas dynasty, including Jason Garrett. You know who also has a Super Bowl ring? Dave Campo and he also came back and proceeded to coach our DBs into horrendous play. The game can pass people by, like it did Zampese when he returned to the Cowboys, though prior he was a Coryell phenom. Houck also coached in Miami during the time Garrett was there when Joey Harrington and Gus Frerotte were QBs and the Miami offense garbage, before he came to Dallas and Romo proceeded to get sacked 40 times a game.

That was the direction of this franchise for the majority of the Cowboy years when Romo was here. It was a FO that had no direction.

Based on your flimsy reasoning, old fellow, Montana, Favre, Lombardi etc were bums because they also played with other bums or on other crummy teams.
Yes ... I can see how you arrived at this conjecture.
Carry on, bloke.
...
But still, with Romo's 10-year drought re a Super Bowl --- or even a 2nd-round playoff victory --- how would you view him if he suddenly unretired and went on to play with a lousy team?
Would he be a super-sized bum?????
Blimey, the depths of failure!

Yea, it was Romo who didn't protect himself in the shot gun. It was Romo who broke his own ribs. It was Romo who dropped the ball in the endzone. Dang Romo, don't you know it's a team sport. The nerve of that QB.

Dak wouldn't even last a series with that horrific Oline Dallas had for years. The kid has it made, like Aikman did. How were those 9 QB's between Aikman & Romo? Yea, that's what I thought. Cat got your tongue huh?! Touche', hater's gonna hate.

Meow!
Good logic, Morris!
Good reasoning!
And Dak couldn't even carry Romo's basket of excuses!
Good mommies always have an excuse for their underachieving kids' failures. :muttley:
Let's start a petition to get Romo a Super Bowl ring, because IT WASN'T HIS FAULT!!!!
The Tony Romo participation Super Bowl ring!!!
Because little Antonio was always surrounded by trash, the bobble was caused by the harmonica convergeance, his picks to end so many seasons were due to under-inflated balls (that dastardly Belichick!!!) and his two career playoff wins were really better wins because Sir Jones stacked the cards against him! Romo deserves 4 playoff victory s rings!
Oh, little Antonio could have been a contendah! He could have been someone! Oh, Charley!

2 first round playoff wins in 10 years?
You Romo apologists are so misguided.
"Do right by Romo" should be to expect a 4th rounder from Houston or Cleveland before the draft.
Romo has been a horrible experiment!
Let us move on to Dak and a brighter future!
Yea, since football is a one man sport it has to be him since everyone else on the team during his tenure here were all-pro's

Yes. Had Romo won a 3rd career playoff game or heh, even a Super Bowl game, you and his fawning girl chorus would be crowing at his accomplishments.
You know that's true. Just like the way we look at Troy and Roger, except Romo is not to their stature and never will.

And if you knew anything about team sports you would know that one person can only do so much by himself....which also leads to mistakes such as INT's at the worst times to make up for weak spots in parts of the rest of the team.

Yeah, coach, it's a team effort, blah, blah. The team bobbles the ball and throws picks to end multiple seasons.
But, among fandom, it's not the O line or the great defence that wins Super Bowl, it is Favre, Montana, Brady and Aikman who win the Super Bowls.
Funny how when Romo mucks it up, it was he crummy teams around him. When he posts record stats (you want a side of playoffs with that?) he is a great leader.
The QB is the boss. If he wins games or falls on his own pittard, it is still his team, his watch.
We remember QB for their winning records, not the team rosters. You are a big boy with big boy pants. You should know this.

Ah, as always, a Romonian steps forward with cliché and hollow logic and then steps back, with a weak rejoinder.
You know, some of you haters either have a short memory of the QB's we had through here between Aikman and Romo or you weren't a fan "way back then"....not sure where you fall there

What I do recall is 3 Super Bowl wins with Aikman and squat under Romo.
Does that ring true?
Thought so.

LMAO. Leave it to my Woody. I wouldn't/didn't even waste my time replying to such hate & one sided nonsense. Oh wait, you did say that in your other reply to the "dude".
My gosh, great minds DO think alike. I'll bring the Kleenex next time for these cry babies.

dude, you're too lost to even argue with
Couple of things:
I really cringe when you yanks end a sentence with a preposition. Didn't you learn to not do this in the 5th grade?
Second, let's just agree that you are wrong, you need to get over Romo, and, yes, teams do better when their QBs have a winning leadership style. Montana, Brady, Favre, Aikman, Staubach, Roethlesberger, Rogers, Manning, Manning, etc. Romo just got rich here. That's all he did in a dozen or so years here.
Now, let us hear you only when needed, and please end your desultory yammering.
Thank you, stout lad.
And, last, but certainly not least, I am correct in my assessments, and the fact that you disagree just buttresses my position. On anything.
Carry on, lad.

Romo gave the Cowboys a lot and I appreciate him for it. Much of the problems we had when Romo was the starter was due to bad coaching and general organizational decisions. The issue is that he does deserve some of the blame as well and the Romo lemmings never see that. I'd probably put it 75% coaching/organization failures and 25% Romo.

I don't think he was a top-4 QB of his era...I would take Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers over him. I would take Roethlisberger over him given Roethlisberger's postseason success. But, Roethlisberger has the same type of limitations he just had better coaching and organizational decisions to work around his limitations and make him a 2 time winning Super Bowl QB.

And if you're not in the top-4 at your position, I don't consider you elite.

If you adjust the numbers of other QB's in Dallas for Romo's era...he's way behind Staubach (who could now be made a case for best QB of all time) and even behind Don Meredith and only slightly better than Danny White. However, it's still really good numbers and he's well ahead of Troy. That's why Super Bowl victories matter so much to people when it comes to QB's.

I look at Romo and see what could have been, but as I said before...Romo deserves some of the blame as well. Hopefully we will learn from our mistakes with Dak and I don't think many fans appreciate just how great of a season Dak had. Not just for a rookie QB...but for any QB. Not only has Romo never had a single season QBR as high as Dak did in 2016, but Tom Brady only had 1 season with a QBR better than Dak's (2017). Dak still has a long way to go and the coaching staff and organization have a long way to go before I believe they can handle a player like Dak. But only a fool would want Romo starting instead of Dak and not see the reason why Cowboys fans are optimistic about our young QB.

"well ahead of Troy"? Troy wasn't mobile nor was he a gunslinger but he played the position as he was instructed with pin point accuracy. Yes he had a killer O/line and Tony did not.
