I know there are a ton of these stories but I still thought I would post it.

I'm in a meeting this week and a guy (who I doubt is a sports fan) is making a point about education. He said he was mostly homeschooled in a small town in the South and says "its a small town you have never heard of, Vicksburg, Mississippi."

Being the consummate business professional that I am, I interrupted to say "Home of Dak Prescott".

He laughed and said "Yeah, we went to Church together. He's a great guy".

I said that everything you read is that is a terrific person. The guy stopped and said "No,whatever you read in the news just scratches the surface. He is a great, great human being. His mother was too".

Homeschooled?

Well, my friend you must have met JoeKing!

It’s hard to not like Dak, both for his athletic talent as well as for the person he is. His character, charisma, leadership, preparation, hard work, and intelligence are everything you could hope to have in a QB. Proud that he’s a Cowboy.

MS State is not in Vicksburg. It's in Starkville, north of Jackson and not close to Vicksburg

I must have screwed up the name of the town then, I've never been to MS. The guy that was telling the story grew up in the town Miss State is in and his Dad taught there for years. It sounded like he still goes back often.

Yeah, I live in Mississippi and Vicksburg is a long, long way from MS State. Starkville is where State is.

Maybe that guy is from Vicksburg but went to state? I don’t know.

Yes you are correct but according to some we should have traded up and drafted Carson, The Best Qb to ever play in the NFL, Wentz. I mean he is as close to God as they come.

Posted this before, but I work with some drivers who chartered several of the Cowboys games. To sum up their experience, they said Zeke was a dick and self absorbed, but Dak was humble, nice and even let them cut in front of him at the food place they were stopped at because he knew they had to get back on the bus. He also stopped to shake their hands and say thank you after they had dropped the players off.

I don’t doubt he’s a nice guy, and I’m sure we have a lot of great guys on our team. The question is, will he liberate us from that 22 yr drought?
If Doug Williams, Brad Johnson , Trent dilfer can do it, yes dak can. The better question is can the mgmnt. Produce the total team package to get it done. We shall see.

This whole thread is a train wreck. Dak is not from Vicksburg. I can also assure you Misssissipi State is not there either. Dak was a 2 star recruit Dan Mullen, at Mississippi State, helped develop into what he is today. Mississippi State is in Starkville and Dak is from Haughton, LA. End of story....as far Dak being a good guy I challenge you to watch below. As far as staying out of Pennsylvania. Why in the world would anyone want to go there anyway??

No, I just screwed up the OP and should have said Starksville in my post. I was just thinking of Vicksburg because I fought there in the Army in 1863. We were real men back then, not like you punk kids today.

No doubt whatsoever Dak does that. And Zeke is young, not to excuse him but I'm certainly going to give him time. Plus everyone reacts to that stuff differently, I live in West Hollywood and certainly don't know any A list celebrities but am around B listers at times. Some are extremely gracious and some get really annoyed by people coming up to them all the time. I can see both sides of that coin.
