I said this was a 9 or 10 win team at best this season, and that is what they are on pace for.
I imagine we get some guys back and they tweak some things over the bye, and they come out playing for their lives against SF. They may even surprise and win that game— if they do, it would be a jolt— if they don’t the wheels probably come off.
All of that to say, the reality is that JJ made his bed as soon as he decided to run it back bc he believes this team is “around the rim”.
If I became GM today, I would immediately fire Solari and the OC. Promote Lunda Wells and place MM 100% in charge of the offense. The guy putting together the gameplan should be the guy calling the plays. The way this team constructs its coaching staff is unnecessarily complicated.
Then I wait until the offseason to make macro changes. We need a young, innovative offensive coach that can get the most out of Dak and this offense because that is where our cap money sits.
On D— I focus on drafting front 7 and trying to get a young, hungry, and fundamentally sound unit that can play with some fire and pop. We won’t have a lot of superstars over there— but maybe we can get some team first guys that the sum ends up greater than the parts.
Definitely changing DCs and will let the new HC set his staff.
Parsons? I am entertaining trade offers. He is a generational talent, but we need to reload and committing more cap to another market setting deal is too much. Get some draft capital and move on from him.
2025 becomes a transition year. Clear the cap from Martin, Zeke, D Law and older vets. Load up in the draft on some young talent, and circle 2026 as a year where (theoretically) you can start to contend.
Drat a young QB to develop and part ways with Prescott as soon as the cap allows for it
