No, they can't but QBs are the most important position on the field and ours is paid to be a top level QB. He wasn't that today in an important game.

The fact you guys can't grasp that and admit that isn't surprising. It's funny. If Dak went 24-32 today for 350 and 5 TDs, you'd certainly not be saying this was a team game, rather that Dak won it. But when he plays mediocre, suddenly, gee guys, it's a team game!

Dak was average today, run game was solid today, defense was bad today. Dak played well enough to win at least one of the picks was on a bad route and the defense collapsed in the 4th.

Not trying to make excuses bc Dak was good not great, but both were timing routes. Even if you dismiss 1/2 the L wasn’t on him.

"A was not great" QB gets 40 million a year? That's why there is no room for WRs can run great routes like Amri Cooper.

In case anyone is wondering, the first chance to get out from under him would be in the 2024 league year. $52 million cap hit, $40 million dead money.

But they will likely restructure his deal this offseason which makes getting out in 2024 an impossibility.

The easiest way if they really wanted to would be to make sure to get a good draft position (by record or trade) and get a rookie, then make the rookie the starter and bench Dak until he insists on a trade and hope another team will take his cap hit. Otherwise that's a lot of pay for a benched QB. That's even assuming that's a good idea.

Dak isn't the sort of QB that is going to lift the team and carry them when needed. That's not who he ever was. He's a good QB, but will never be elite. He was paid like he was elite but that's on Jerry. This was a team collapse though, not just Dak.

Either way, Dak isn’t going to put the team on his shoulders when it counts and beat good teams or even bad teams as he proved today. He’s shown that time and again and he’s regressing.

My point is you throw around elite like there are a bunch of those guys. Mahomes is elite. Allen is debatable. Wilson Brady and Rodgers are shot. Who is elite???

So the Dak fans gonna blame the Dallas defense, but Dak gifting two INT to a team that’s 23rd in INTs is not on the QB. GB was last in the league in two minute defense and they squid kicked it to end the half and played very SOFT zone. Dak was basically in hurry up all day.
