At this point, you know you can't defend Dak so now you are trying to make all other QBs look worse than they are to elevate Dak.

You'll note that nowhere in this thread have to offered up a rebuttal to those that are saying he's a decent QB but not a great one. Instead, you've just babbled off other QBs that likely aren't great either as if some sort of proof Dak is great. LOL.

Here's what you can't grasp. The Cowboys are paying Dak to be that level of QB. When you pay a QB what we are paying him, especially in terms of cap hits, it makes it tougher to then build a more complete roster around that QB. If you are eating up a massive chunk of cap space for the QB, you have to expect the QB to then be able to overcome some of the roster limitations caused by the fact you don't have a ton of cap space to then fill every other position with great players.

The reality here is that deep down you know what many of us are saying about Dak is accurate. But as a fan, you can't grasp the reality that we are tied to a QB who probably isn't good enough to lead us on a SB run. I get it, it's depressing and disappointing to have to come to grips with the realization that Dak and Jerry and whatever coach Jerry hires just isn't good enough to win us a SB.

Dallas is paying Dak the FMV of QBs at the time of the signing. BTW that number moved up a lot since the contract. Have a gander at the Murray deal. Dak is a bargain. Jerry could have let Dak walk and then what? Sign Ryan? That guy is toast. Start Rush? See how that would go over a full season. Draft a new QB? Get ready for 6-7 wins.

Quarterbacking a TRIPLE AAA team at best today he was able to will his team to victory when he went up against what was supposed to be a top-level defense in this league. Yes, he's getting the FMV. Just because we are paying him that doesn't mean it was a wise decision. It also doesn't mean just because we are paying him the fair market value for QBs that makes him actually a great QB. I don't think either QB can do it. There is too much inconsistency in both their games and both often come up small in tough situations.
