The real issue was petting go of Wilson..would have been a great #3/4.

:hammer: Cedric Wilson was quietly one of our best players last year. I still can't believe we let him walk. Fast, big play ability, good hands-route running, nice rapport with Dak.. could even throw ..

The way they are playing, it doesn't look like letting Cooper go was a mistake.

you are saying we couldn’t possibly be better right now or deeper in case of injury? With money we didn’t use anyway….even our FO recognizes the fact we need a legit third WR right now.
Not sure why people keep trying to delude themselves into thinking letting a guy like Amari go for nothing and not replacing him or even using the money was somehow a good move. It looked bad at the time and it looks 3x worse now. Just because we are playing really well right now doesn’t change that nor does it mean we couldn’t be even better.

We shouldn’t have let cooper go. You don’t sign a WR that won’t play this year. The only real issue is why Jerry outed all this to the media. Nothing came out from bills or giants. Seems like a move by the team. We could have just not said anything at all they didn’t have to put the guys medical info out there.
The title suggest you were going to clearly clarify at least two mistakes they've made, or are making. Letting Cooper go was the first mistake you pointed out, but what exactly is the second?

Agreed, you don't run Zeke for senator in 30 years when he's got all that past baggage that will be used against him in attack ads and makes sure he loses.

Actually, I do compound my mistakes with alarming regularity.

At least it eventually forces me to rule out bad luck and conclude that, yes, I made a dumb decision.

Some people learn their lessons right away. Instead, I embrace the stubborn path.

I don’t see the Cooper decision as wrong. Just the execution (we should have got more). It’s all sliding doors but moving on from Cooper paved the way for Ceedee to be a real no.1, Pollard to play a bigger role and our young TE’s to emerge. And that 20m per season will be handy when it comes to sign our young players.

The reasoning I Red was Cooper wasn’t fitting in. Now you have trouble with that that’s fine. Deck wasn’t happy with Cooper. But I get it it’s a shame we had to get rid of Cooper

:hammer:

Cooper is on pace for an 81 catch, 1100 yard, 9 TD season with that mess at QB in Cleveland. Getting only a 5th round pick for him was a humiliation of Jerry Jones.
Getting rid of Cooper wasn't about that.

Getting rid of Amari, and Gregory, was the best move the team made this offseason.

I don't think we see the development or dare I say "coming out party" with Lamb this year had Cooper still been on the roster.

I also don't think you see the focus and priority with the running game, or with the successful multiple tight end sets had Cooper still been on the roster.

There are only so many footballs will go around. When you have two #1 receivers in the lineup, Moore and Dak are probably more pressed to get both involved in the passing game at the expense of complimentary football. That's more pass attempts for Dak and fewer running plays. More chances Dak would throw an INT or have other negative plays like a sack or strip fumble. You also run the risk of either Cooper or Lamb sulking, because one of them is probably not being fed the ball as much as he would want to be.

Dallas is better this year chemistry-wise and with being more balanced on offense.
