I don't understand what all of these threads are about. The current WR core are playing very well. The Cowboys have scored a lot of points lately. What are those wanting to sign OBJ thinking?

There isn’t anything wrong with this group but if we could have added a HEALTHY Obj to this corp it would have been a tremendous advantage. You would have to account for him freeing up CeeDee from double coverage. We see a lot of 2 high safety and that would have been hard to do against us with him out there.

We shouldn’t have let cooper go. You don’t sign a WR that won’t play this year. The only real issue is why Jerry outed all this to the media. Nothing came out from bills or giants. Seems like a move by the team. We could have just not said anything at all they didn’t have to put the guys medical info out there.

Not sure 61 catches is pro bowl numbers, but he is a good wide out for sure. We sure missed him early, but I think our wideout have stepped it up the last 3 games.

I wouldn't expect you to understand how keeping him would effect the cap in future years and the guys we would lose.

as Fish said... jerry didnt let anything out there. Fisher reporting Friday that OBJ wasnt working out for anybody. The world knew OBJ had a torn ACL he was rehabbing from. Anyone following the Cowboys was aware that OBJ not working out for the team was a problem. So what exactly did Jerry let out that wasnt known a week ago?

He has averaged 26% of snaps on offense.

The Cowboys weren't the first ones to express that concern. It was out there before OBJ visited the Cowboys, they just piled on top.

You're right about Cooper, he's on track for what he's done for most of his career 1100 yards and single digit tds. Despite his inconsistencies, he was another weapon for the offense. If they were going to let him go should have gotten more for his services, or just restructured his contract.

What, you think we’d be better than 9-3 if we kept Cooper? He would’ve been the same guy he’s always been: Great player sometimes, then disappearing other times. He wasn’t worth $20MM/yr.

As far as what was or wasn’t released, every team that might be interested in OBJ has the same information. He wasn’t harmed in any way. Either he can or can’t contribute this year. Either way, he’s probably going to wind up with the same deal. That we aren’t interested because he can’t help this year is just information, neither negative nor positive.

That’s an excuse. Jeff Wilson, Gesiki and Edmonds have more targets than him and they aren’t even receivers.

Sherfield who is a receiver seems to be getting targets. Wilson is an after thought just like most guys who leave here.
