You expect me to believe another year of Romo, Witten, Ware, Garrett is supposed to compete w/that?

Eh, I don't know.

Let's not forget the adderall abuse. And I have to imagine the NFL will crack down on the amount of holding their secondary does each play. It's kind of an open secret that the officials stop calling it because it happens all the time.

Seattle is resigning Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman this offseason. They will draft responsibly. We are totally screwed with the cap and a psychopathic owner. We are light years away from the team we just saw. Light years.

Yeah, I actually suggested not resigning Romo last year. Why? Because I thought, after last year, that we were nowhere near the 49ers or the Seahawks. I felt that we could have strategically set ourself up nicely, cap wise, for the 2015 season and beyond.

Fans of every other NFL franchise are saying the same thing right now. Including Denver. The offseason is long, and a lot can happen in a year or two. Most of us weren't expecting to vault to Superbowl competitors in a few months, anyway.

Ultimately, Jerry doesn't care. Just keep giving him your money and maybe we'll get to another regular season ending 'winner take all loser go home' game. Keep pretending we are just 'this close'.

That may be true for other franchises but the Cowboys are incredibly predictable.

True.

I will say this for the Seahawks --- we all saw them coming after their performance last year. The Seahawks winning the Superbowl this season should shock nobody.

I might have been born at night but not last night. We are years from competing with those monsters in Seattle.

Looks like you and everyone who's gonna like this post should just shut it down and show up this time next year.

Pop your head in and y'all can tell us if it's gonna be another season of no hope.

And Instead of ground hog day it can be renamed Cowboy pessimist day.

Or realists day with a break for the Willy Wonka and his Hopeful Factory employees.

Well, I do agree with your premise, but in a couple years, when we might actually field a talented and deep team, Seattle won't be able to afford half the talent they have. They have done it the right way and it got them a Superbowl so I applaud them. I think they are on the build up/tear down/rebuild model though.

Not sure you know what your talking about.

Wilson is making around 500k per season. Not the ridiculous cap number of Romo. They paid about what Dallas paid for spencer for Bennett AND Avril. They locked up Chancellor and harvin long term. They have the youngest team in the league. Jones keeps paying age and orchestrating poor drafts.

True..

but did anybody pickup on the part of the broadcast..

Where they were giving a lot of credibility for Seattle's success to the hiring of their new GM.

any possibility Jones had not turned off his TVaand heard that?

Hmmmm..

They have to re-sign Bennett now. He was only on a one year contract.

Sometimes I wish we didn't have free agency because it would be interesting to see how many SBs this Seattle team could win. This is the most talent I've seen in a long time on one team.

We're 1 of 6 teams that might play them on opening night. I don't wanna get embarrassed in week 1. At least give us false hope for a month....

Hopefully Jerry at least saw that pass defense is what wins in the playoffs

No team is light years away in the NFL. The 2-14 Colts were "light years" away from getting into the playoffs 2 years in a row... oh wait.

Disappointing to see just how far we are from being good.

Seattle has set the bar in the NFC.

They showed their GM and owner in the booth, .. I didn't know who they were and had never seen them before. But it was obvious that they know what they are doing.

It is sad to see their owner, their GM, their coach and their structure.

They have it all right. And if someone says they don't, I say "scoreboard".

They are a physical punishing team that dares you to beat them, man to man. And they are young enough and good enough to get away with it.

Reminds me a lot of our 1990s teams. Same sort of track too. College coach, use those roots to work the draft, a lot of roster turnover.
