You expect me to believe another year of Romo, Witten, Ware, Garrett is supposed to compete w/that?

Hopefully Jerry at least saw that pass defense is what wins in the playoffs

Really.

Good coaching is what wins championships

Seattle and their coaches completely out coached Denver.

Their game plan ran circles around Denver.

And Denver had no answers as a staff.

No adjustments, no plan B..

nothing.

That's coaching.

I might have been born at night but not last night. We are years from competing with those monsters in Seattle.

Actually,

Didn't we play Seattle and stay close with them?

And didn't we play Denver and lose by a single point?

I think we are a lot closer than people want to admit and we matched up better than Denver did.

Food for thought gang.

Seattle is resigning Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman this offseason. They will draft responsibly. We are totally screwed with the cap and a psychopathic owner. We are light years away from the team we just saw. Light years.

The death of us was giving Romo, that huge contract...Now we are handicapped

Yep, we're at least 2 years away from the top and by then Romo's long gone.

Eh, I don't know.

Let's not forget the adderall abuse. And I have to imagine the NFL will crack down on the amount of holding their secondary does each play. It's kind of an open secret that the officials stop calling it because it happens all the time.

Yeah. Unless your the Broncos and then you get called in the endzone on third down and give them a first on the one. That was clearly a PI on Earl Thomas right before the half when the Broncos were driving and no call. If the game had been closer we probably would have seen more like that.

We franchised Spencer for nearly 11 million dollars last year. They signed Michael Bennett to 1 year, 5 million and Avril for 2 years and 11 million (guaranteed). They got 2 players that were highly productive and we got 0 production for the same money. Nuff said.

As far as I'm concerned you can add however much Ratliff cost us to that total as well. Our front office is a joke.

Q. What's the status of Jay Ratliff?
A. We call him every week.

Disappointing to see just how far we are from being good.

Seattle has set the bar in the NFC.

They showed their GM and owner in the booth, .. I didn't know who they were and had never seen them before. But it was obvious that they know what they are doing.

What a concept . . . . . . . . . .

Yeah, let's toss in the towel already!

After all, Denver is tossing in the towel too, right? They were outclassed so they must also be light-years away.

Come to think of it, if Seattle did THAT to DENVER... I guess that means they must be light-years ahead of EVERY team. So every team should throw in the towel!

Cancel the 2014 season and let the Seahawks celebrate their back-to-back titles already!!! We're all doomed!!! WAAAAAH!!!! :(

Their GM and Head coach have a plan and work together. They specifically targeted guys with an edge and guys that were passed over. Now, the philosophy only works if you have a HC that knows how to control that environment and handle those types of players... Carroll just knows how to keep his guys loose and walk that fine line between aggressiveness/physicality and playing dirty. Its a special talent he has to relate to those young players and they love playing for him because its fun. Jason Garrett has the personality of a microwave and would never be able to handle a roster with the personality of Seattle. Your team takes on the personality of its head coach, thus the emotionless RKG drones we trot out on the field who back down every time someone hits them in the mouth.

Maybe Dallas should start serving PEDs in the cafeteria too....

If you think pass defense is what reduced Manning to an indecisive flop, you do not know what you are watching.

I don't tough guy? Look at the defensive passer rating of teams that have eliminated Manning over the years. All were amongst the top in the league. Great pressure from great fronts and good coverage on the back ends. And look at the Cowboys who have ranked in the bottom ten in defensive passer rating the past four years. And yes there is a difference between pass defense and defensive secondaries.

pressure and coverage is what you need to beat the top QBs like Manning. Neither alone will get it done.

Right, the 2011 Vikings were proof that just great pressure doesn't get the job done. But if one can be great and one can only be good, I'll take great pressure and good coverage.

agree. that has been proven time and again that the more important one is the pressure.

Quick name the starters and role players that ended up on IR. All I cab think of are Browner, Rice and Harvin sort of. They have a swagger, a productive running game that they don't abandon and enough pressure players to give the Broncos fits. They will be good next year, but they can't pay Wilson, Sherman, Thomas and Okung all $10 mil contracts..Besides, the game is going to be flag football within five years anyways.

I'm not really sure what the point is of noting Seattle's coming increase in cap woes. We are completely over the cap and looking at major restructuring and couldn't beat them if the refs made them wear blindfolds.

Yes, they will not be able to keep this talent together long. That is how the NFL is structured these days, the dynasty years are largely over. That doesn't mean they have not done in the past several years what Jerry has not managed in 20 - building a dominant, young roster.

Smh, people are trying to forecast a negative future for the Seahawks because of contracts and cap problems when we have those same things and can't make the playoffs. Actually we are in a worse situation than them.
