"It's a process, blah blahblah blah, it's a process, blah blahblah blah", over and over hundreds of times.
That's probably it for me. I've had my fill of him..... color commentating our underwhelming performance as a head coach all those years.Same here. Ten years of him as a Cowboys coach was enough, I don't want any more whether he's a coach or commentator.
Ill just have it muted no big deal."Top candidate to replace NBC's Drew Brees".
Not so sure I'm gonna like this. Does he get to clap?

I heard that he did a good job with USFL games,
You nailed it, Jason has forgotten more football than the rest of us have ever known.Nah that's completely ridiculous. Put JG in a room to watch film with 99% of posters here, and the posters would just be in awe of the detail JG would point out. Dismissing a former NFL head coach with a winning record as not knowing football is kind of like the out of shape 40 year old guy on his couch making fun of the last place sprinter in the olympics.
Even the worst of coaches at this level spend all day every day breaking down the game, while schmucks like us are sitting on this board discussing and advocating outdated concepts from a decade ago.
It didn't seem to help him much when he was here, hence the nickname 8-8.You nailed it, Jason has forgotten more football than the rest of us have ever known.
I never said he was a great coach, because I do not think he was. I wanted him gone for years just like the majority of folks here.It didn't seem to help him much when he was here, hence the nickname 8-8.
So why is he a terrible coach. Couldn't even hold a side job in New York. Odd, for being so knowledgeable. You nailed it, Jason has forgotten more football than the rest of us have ever known.
Nice. I was hoping the Giants gave him a little more time, but I'm pretty sure two years was enough to ruin the QB.

The hate for JG is just next level here. The guy won 87 games (lost 70) as a head coach, was a QB coach or OC for three different teams, and played 8 seasons of Quarterback in the NFL....to say the guy doesn't understand Xs and Os better than the common fan who will be watching on NBC is ridiculous. I never said that he is a great HC, I never put his name with a Tom Landry, Bill Walsh, Bill Belichick, etc. but the guy seems like a really good TV fit, and comes with a very credible resume. If not for booger, he would have never been a head coach or at most a very short tenured HC. He never earned the designation. Former players openly say he didn't really know the X's & O's. He was really a PR guy with a HC title. I would bet you dollars to donuts he has never spent a full day breaking down film (at least not since becoming a HC.)
For one, there isn't much need to break down more than 2 games at any given time and that don't take all day even if you do it by yourself. Secondly, there are underlings who break it all down & feed it to the upper level staff. Only the truly detail oriented HC's & coordinators go beyond that nowadays. Third, HC's have too many other obligations to do film breakdown all day, every day.
Last but not least, even if I conceded (which I don't) that he understood the concepts & philosophies at a high level, his track record proves he had no clue how to put it all together so the sum was greater than the parts.
