I did not put words in Jerry's mouths ....... I was mocking his pathetic fanclub.

And No he did not ....... he made it slightly better ....... still no playoff wins ....... 32-30 record ........ because he had an egomaniac as a boss
Right, it was Jerry's fault. It had nothing to do with Carter doing cocaine and having to pivot to Testaverde and Bledsoe as QB's.

Who over reached for Carter who had serious warning signs in his college days ......... all because he thought it would be cool to have a running QB who could barely throw the ball?

When you figure out who it was ...... get back to me.

All these names floated around like Moore and Johnson and Gruden and all those others. I don't think they have what it takes to build a culture in Dallas. Moore can't do that for sure. Deion seems to think he can but I think he is a flash in the pan and his act will wear out. A guy like Tomlin is the epitome of this of what you need.

I think that guy is Marcus Freeman from Notre Dame personally. I think he is the guy we need. Now, is building that type of culture possible with the Jones circus show around? It would be difficult but the right personality could do it. Jerry should be ringing his phone early next week. You could probably also include Curt Cignetti in the call list as well.

Sadly…an organization’s culture is established by those highest up within the organization and it flows down through all of the entities’ levels to all its members.
No coach or player, no matter how strong of a leader they may be, will be able to change the Cowboys’ culture so long as the Jones’ are running things.
Therefore, the only coaches who will be hired by Dallas are those willing to sacrifice their principals and defer to the Jones’ model of organizational dysfunction.
If Jerry was serious about being competitive and winning playoff games, he would know that changes must be made, but his ego and arrogance will not permit him to do such things.
Is not the definition of insanity doing the same things yet expecting a different result? This is the essence of Jerry Jones.

Only a few people who could build a Culture with Jerry around and he would still most likely screw it up.

Carter was actually turning into a serviceable QB before the drug issues and was slated to be the starting QB.

Before the drug issues? ....... he had that in college and the coaches and teachers covered for him.

Serviceable QB? Look at his stats? he had a 6 yard average throws and 28TDs vs 38 interceptions in 3 years.

Damn ....... you suck down every bit of the koolaid Jerry peddles.

I don't think the coach can set the culture when it comes from above him, from Jerry

McCarthy didn't build a culture?
He fell in line with all the other yes men puppets hired post Jimmy except Parcells.
His culture included having won a SB 15 years ago.
And that he won 1 playoff game over an 8-9 Tampa squad in his last 7 years of coaching at GB and Dallas.

And yet he was prolly the "best" Jerry could or will do.
Lots more sad times are upon Cowboy fans.

Good postseason coaching matters.

Good thread, if you’re going to complain, have a solution. And the solution get Jerry out of the way as much as possible.
No one wants to hear it, but the solution here is for this to hit rock bottom over the next 2-3 years, then maybe they go the Parcells type route.

Can’t say who that person might be at that time. Maybe McVay after sitting out a year. Impossible to say.

This is going to take time for things to work properly, and it’s still quite the long shot.

But I’ll offer folks this news flash….Jerry hiring his puppets and doing Jerry things isn’t going to amount to much on field success. I’m certain he has already decided it’s either success with him as the boss, or none at all.

Clarification what actual culture change are you people looking for. Discipline, because that starts with coaching, not ownership.
Some players are crying over McCarthy leaving. They liked their Country Club Cowboys organization !!!

I remember in Parcells first year we lost the opener and played the Giants week 2 in New York. Parcells return home. We were underdogs. The game went into overtime and as we lined up for the winning FG one of our top leaders Darren Woodson kneeled along the sidelines and started to pray. Parcells immediately chastised him. Told him to get up on his feet and act like a leader. We don't need divine intervention for this.

He was changing the culture. He talked about it all the time when he came in. It had to change. And if you remember, Jerry ended up "walking on egg shells" during the Parcells years and enthusiastically waved him goodbye, leaving behind a young emerging playoff contender.

Now what did Jerry do next? Conduct a coaching search that came down to two candidates. Two of the weakest willed head coaches you'll ever find. Norv Turner and Wade Phillips.

Jerry ran right back to where he is comfortable. Where the culture is toxic.

And what did Parcells say when he left? "Before long you won't even know I was here." I'll never forget that.

We can say it over and over and over again and we're all sick of saying it and sick of reading it but he really is 100% of the problem. It's Jerry Jones and only Jerry Jones.

I don't think Jerry will be looking for a culture builder for HC, Jerry wants to run the show and take credit himself.

But players need to actually fear the HC. That hasn't been the case since Jimmy Johnson left. Players after him learned that they could jump the chain-of-command. Do you think that Sean Payton could've come in and do what he did to Russell Wilson? Not...a...chance...in...hell. Not in Dallas...which is why I called the overhyped Payton watch (at the time) one of the most hilarious things I'd ever seen.

Saleh or Sanders could bring a culture change but it only goes so far when players know that there is actually a shadow HC in the building. IOW..."if I'm in good with Jerry then it's all good", regardless of the guy wearing the headset on Sunday.

It’s not 30 years of facts. It’s 30 years of no championship and that’s why we’re all disappointed. He’s not the head coach he’s the head in the head lol
That's why the MM haters have been wasting their energy on McCarthy, it's not an MM problem people, it's a Jerry problem. Maybe that's their problem, they can't hate Jerry off the team so they go for the next guy down stream out of desperation. LOL

You know what - I agree with this. I’d be on board with Freeman. I ripped that guy early this season but man did he prove me wrong.
