I suppose you could be right. That is a possibility. However, when I keep seeing FBs become All Stars, QBs given all day to throw a pass, safeties lined up one on one against WRs, tight ends like Crumpler and not a defender within 20 yards of him and etcetera leads me to think our D coaching is sub par. I tend not to give the coaching staff the benefit of the doubt.
Regardless, at least we can all stop living in denial and saying that our defense is one of the tops in the NFL because it clearly is not.
Call it coaching or call it player deficiencies but something needs to be done. I really hope it is a coaching problem that can be solved a lot quicker than building a new defense.
