This one, for me, was tempered by the fact that we eventually lost that game. Monday nighter as I recall. Vikes went into the 2 minute drill with about 8 minutes to go. Thou they new it not, they created the no huddle offense at our expense.

Who knew?

And we created the Hail Mary at their expense, so it all evens out.

Man, when you think about, the Vikings have been the poster boy for great moments in Cowboys' history. Dorsett's run, the Hail Mary, the Herschal Walker trade, etc.

3: This one will seem weird, but Larry Allen running down a New orleans CB after an INT his rookie season. Most amazing play I've ever seen a player make in the NFL, simply ebcause of the amazing effort and athleticism he showed for a big man.

I'm pretty sure it was a linebacker (Darrion Conner?), but it was still incredible. I'm just posting this for your edification, not to be a jerk and correct you. If I'm wrong, I apologize. That was one of the only times I can ever recall my dad (a die-hard Giants fan) complimenting a Cowboys player. Allen was truly a freak in his prime.

1. Lilly and Lary Cole running down Greise in Super Bowl VI - This validated Tom Landry and all of the great things he had done with this franchaise.

We throw off the "Can't win the big game tag."

since im only 17 and didnt start paying attention till the dave campo years, i would have to say last year when roy williams picked that ball off and took it to the endzone. then i woke up my dad (eagles fan odviously) and showed him the score and he absolutly crapped himself because he went to sleep thinking the eagles won and the game was out of reach. i didnt go to sleep that night iwas so hyped to bust on every1 in sight

I think you're right, he returned his 2nd to the 6, but still, those 2 INTs were my proudest memory of being a Dallas Cowboy fan

There are a few that come to mind. These two especially.

-- 1976. My dad and I flew to Dallas to see the Cowboys play the Baltimore Colts. It was the first time either of us had been to a Cowboys game. I remember it like it was yesterday ... walking into the stadium for the first time and seeing the players warming up on the field way down below. I was 14 years old and it blew me away.

-- 2002. Went to training camp on my birthday. It was about 100 degrees outside. I walked into the Alamodome, picked up my pass and stood on the field. The air conditioning was marvelous. They were preparing for the news conference to open camp and had everything set up. I remember standing there and just taking it all in, thinking there was no place in the world I would rather be than right there, right then. About that time, Jerry and his entourage walked out on to the field. When I saw Dave Campo walk by me, I was snapped back to reality.

Way too many to think of. Too many to take time to remember.

One play I remember, and think was significant as well. We all remember the great plays, defining moments. But in the 92 NFC title game at SF. Many good plays. But after Harper's long catch and run, then K-Marts TD, by the tip of the ball. We were in great shape.

However, SF always has the knack to get those long plays and there was plenty of time left for them to come back. Can't quite remember, but I believe with a great ST play, pinned them back some. It was Kenny Norton's INT that sealed it. Everyone was saying we were too young, a year away. Well, they grew up in 3 hours.

But my most memorable, non on-field moment. When we drafted Emmitt. I was going crazy, yelling trade up, trade up...they did, and took Emmitt. My wife (ex wife now) said what is going on. Told her we will win the SB within 5 years, and win more than one. Because of Emmitt.

I missed this post. So true though!

First time I stepped foot in Texas Stadium was last season against the Cards...Walked in at the 50, Home side, was really taken back as nearly thirty years of memories came back! Awesome.

Obviously, I have fond memories when my father was still alive that we shared watching the Cowboys, but I consider those moments with family.

Therefore, I will pick one of my recent favorites. One that, for many people, is one of their worst favorite.

TO standing on the star. gasp!!!

Just the pride that welled up when Emmitt went to the star, knelt down and slammed the ball on the ground as if to say: 'My House!'. And then seeing journeyman Teague trying to take off Owens head to defend the star.

I took pride from that moment, while others only saw TO.

This one will be different from the other lista I guess, it was the year they went 1-15, it was the year my father-in-law was dying with cancer, we watched every game together, yea they sucked but he was my best friend, he was a die hard Cowboy game, but he helped me put it in perspective, it is just a game.Guess thats why I will miss Texas Stadium so much, it was like he could watch the game from heaven. the new place won't be the same..

My all time greatest moment as a Cowboy fan was the 1992 season... ALL OF IT... starting with beating the defending SB 26 champion Commanders on MNF... then beating the Eagles on that lone Sunday afternoon. Emmitt was the first RB to run for 100+ yards on the Eagle defense in more than a year... and that same afternoon, Dallas took sole posession of the #1 defense ranking and did not relinquish it... owning the NY Giants all season... whipping the flashy Falcons on MNF and Emmitt completely gouging the Falcon defense for 170+ rushing yards... sweeping the AFC West games... CRUSHING the Eagles in the divisional playoffs... BLASTING the Candy-niners and getting revenge for the 1981 "Catch" game on their own sloppy field, and finally DOMINATING the Bills, handing them their fourth loss in their 4th straight SB appearance... Although you could throw back the home loss against the Rams... fluke games can and do happen.
