Dood!!!Love this album brutha!
A cloaking robe of elvin kind hangs in my wardrobe, behind
All those things that mother said were proper for a boy
My all-time one-hit wonder. This melody has influenced current indie bands such as MGMT. There's a lot of world-music melody in this diddy
Just let me have it, WinNot a one-hit wonder by any means Trouty…
"Who Can It Be Now" was a #1 hit
"Overkill" got up to #3
"It's a Mistake" got up to #6
How about Electric Avenue? I know I can't name another Eddy Grant song. Indiana's Wants Me is another that comes to mind.
Hey! Post a vid, you dirty dawgHere are several #1 hits from the 60's where the singer/group never had a top-40 hit again:
"Teen Angel"
"Alley Oop"
"Mr Custer"
"Telstar"
"Sukiyaki"
"Dominique"
"Eve of Destruction"
"Winchester Cathedral"
"Judy in Disguise"
"Love is Blue"
"Harper Valley PTA"
"In the Year 2525"
"Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye"
"Dominique" is probably the most unlikely song to hit #1 out of all of these... Sung by a Belgian nun.

I watched that movie a few weeks ago.Harper Valley PTA might be the winner. That song was huge and she just fell off the map after that. Course when Tom T. Hall is writing your songs for you, you're bound to have some success.
