Gilmour's guitar playing, vastly underrated, was made for the one on one headphones experience. Alan Parsons Project was the same to me.Their music is MADE for headphones, brudda. And it's crazy they reached the sound they did, that is so perfect for headphones, 2-3 decades before headphones were a thing.
Masters.
Johnny, always a pleasure when you drop by a music thread. Your knowledge of 60s and 70s rock is a treasure trove, my friend.Just one?
That's like asking whats your favorite Zeppelin, Beatles or Rush song. Their libraries are so vast and wonderful its impossible.
Shine on you crazy Diamond.
The great gig in the sky.
Us and them.
Learning to fly.
Brain Damage/Eclipse
Comfortably numb.

Agree and I am damned tired of JB asking these questions because they're too hard. How about some one hit wonder artists and make it easier? Hey, that gives me an idea.Just one?

Yeah, I've heard that before!Thank you, the check is in the mail.
Please, no asking what is your favorite Starland Vocal Band tune
Just one?

Wow, those are three great songs. But none of them would make my top 5 for those bands, respectively. It's possible John, you just gotta put your back into it.
Zepp - How Many More Times
Beatles - Let It Be
Rush - The Trees
See, easy peasy.
Honestly, I can't change the station fast enough when Rush comes on....but I agree that Peart is incredible.Same, Pelluer. Let it Be is amazing, but not even a top-ten Beatles song for me. Maybe top-15. Maybe. His Zep song is interesting, but again, like you, not a top 5, or even top ten, or even top-15. Rush is okay, don't kill me Rush fans, I like Tom Sawyer and their greatest hits album, but that's as far as my commentary can go there. Neil Peart is, of course, a god.
Still, bless him for posting a list. Most wont even do that.
We haven't had a Beatles thread here. Shame. The greatest band ever. And I am obsessive over them more so than any form of art, ever.
Beatles - Rocky Raccoon (A Day in the Life is incredible, probably my number three after Blackbird)Honestly, I can't change the station fast enough when Rush comes on....but I agree that Peart is incredible.
As for the Beatles.......They're the Beatles, probably the most influential rock band of all time. Their very early stuff isn't really my thing, but once they started getting psychedelic....amazing stuff!
Zep - When the Levee Breaks
Beatles - A Day in the Life....probably
Considering I just took two pain meds.....
Time.
I put this on one time after watching The Ring in the theaters with my then wife, who hated scary movies, and she almost jumped out of the car. LOL (to her Pink Floyd was "scary music" whatever the **** that means)
Money, Mother, and Another Brick in the Wall pt 2 are also amazing. Like OP said, everything by them is fantastic.
I guess I figured that, since the OP brought those names up, it was okay to expand on it.Beatles - Rocky Raccoon (A Day in the Life is incredible, probably my number three after Blackbird)
Zep - Achilles Last Stand
Rush - I guess Tom Sawyer? Not really qualified
I actually deleted that post, Runny, because it was too OT, but I couldn't resist your post
I know Rush isn’t for everyone. If it’s Geddy Lee’s voice that grates on you try YYZ and La Villa Strangiato.Honestly, I can't change the station fast enough when Rush comes on....but I agree that Peart is incredible.
