Stop being so damn skeptical Stash (except for Jerry). We'll wait and see what happens but it's not reasonable to dismiss every single thing they say.

It's perfectly reasonable to dismiss it when it comes to this player, who has done nothing since they drafted him, especially when they needed him most. He had his opportunity and he blew it.

I hope another receiver can beat him out for his roster spot as I don't feel he deserves it. And if it's Dooley making these claims, I'm starting to question if he isn't simply a ******** artist talking up 'his guys' only to have them not produce when called upon.

Doubt it unless he can't get on the field. If he can he adds something the others don't. Morris and McFadden need to be looking over their shoulders re Jackson.

For what? 3 or 4 weeks until he's broken again? And what then? Stuck like last year because you counted on him while everybody else was signed elsewhere? Don't make the same mistake again.

I'm done watching this team count on guys that let them down again, and again, and again.

Why? He's the only 3rd down option besides playing EE on all third downs. Morris can't pass protect and then we got rookies....

Because we have no one else behind him except rookies. Dunbar is gonna start on pup likely. You trust a rookie of McFadden?

Aren't they always? Then he steps on field in an actual game annnnnd......nothing. Again.

Every offseason we hear about guys like street, russell, t mclain, ect getting better in the offseason. Then season starts and nada. We will prob see some chaz green got stronger in the offseason/ ready to compete or damian wilson ready to step up articles soon

Sorry to sound negative but i cant trust the info coming out of the cowboys organization. It seems that they are always " high" on everyone and every prospect looks legit ect.

If he doesn't, there was little sense in wasting a draft pick on him. A project is just that, a project.
The biggest waste of a draft pick is definitely Gathers. It's clear that the chance of him contributing are very small, but he has "potential" so he won't make it to the practice squad. You almost have to hope he gets little too no PT during the preseason if you hope to keep him.

Gotcha, I just thinking who's the odd man out at TE if we keep him? Unless you're thinking we go 5 TEs?

Witten, Escobar, Hanna, Swaim, Gathers
Evolve won't be ready at the season start, PUP, so you have to think about it like keeping 4 TEs.

What I was saying that we wouldn't be cutting McFadden because he's our best third down back right now and a proven pass blocker. Morris can't pass protect and Dunbar's spot is in jeopardy. Until Morris can prove he can pass protect and be a decent receiver out of back field McFadden's spot is safe.

I don't see any bigger "waste" than Swaim was last year. He contributed nothing either, but at least Gathers has measurables and upside. Push comes to shove, I'd either IR Esfobar or release him outright. That story has been written. And it's a tragedy.

No ur not being reasonable here. This is his year to make a move. Most lower picks don't contribute much until year three.

Prior injuries are not generally predictive. You and others keep spouting the opposite and the data doesn't support ur position.

I don't have the same patience that you apparently do. I call 'em like I see 'em. Street has shown nothing and should be on the street.

He had the perfect opportunity to show what he could do last year in Bryant's absence and he not only failed, he failed miserably.

There's the awful truth that you'd rather blind yourself to.

Each and every time this player has been called upon, he's ended up injured. Not once, not twice, but all three seasons the team used him, he came up lame.

That's fact.

And one that I'm capable of seeing and dealing with.

Apparently, your fandom requires you to overlook players' failings while mine does not.

I like the Landry rule in that later picks should show something in their third year. So you might consider more patience. :)

I don't create a ton of threads anymore. When I do, I try to do fun/interesting things where people can participate without feeling the need to write a long post or feel the need to argue with each other.

That being said - who ya got as a surprise guy to come out of nowhere and make the 53?

I'll go with Rico Gathers.

It would be very cool for him to make it. If he can become a JW disciple, anything is possible. Seeing we have no real star behind Jason, I'm all for it. What a story that could become.
