While mentioning FX shows, ... i really loved the first 2 seasons of " Fargo " ... but the 3rd season i could not bare much more to watch it.
Hated the series ended on a bad Season 3 note.

It's not Fx, .. but i would have to mentioned "Stranger Things " as one of my favs TVshows too.
Ironically it's 3rd season is rumored to be the last and final season as well.,

FX and HBO know how to make shows. There's good stuff on every channel or streamer, but quality per quantity, I think those two do the best job in today's market.

For me, the season where they usually lose me is Season 3. (Stopped watching Stranger Things in Season 3)

Season 1 is always the best because it's new. Second 2 rides the momentum of 1, no matter how well it's made. Season 3 is where you show if your show is great and has longevity... or in some cases, a real story and intended ending.

I'd also have to put Netflix in it's Originals right there with FX and HBO.

Heck it's because of Netflix being able to create their own originals among the streaming networks that has brought out such up coming and ongoing
competitors as ever before. (Disney Plus, HBO MAx, Hulu, Amazon, Peacock, etc.)

Netflix has always set the stage and continue to set the stage when it comes to streaming market, imo. .

No one else watched David Letterman at night?

I probably could have put down every late show. Always liked watching those through the decades.

Went from Carson to Letterman to first Conan show to Daily Show to Kimmel, and now I just catch all the bits on Youtube that are worth watching from all of them.
Letterman is up there for me, watched a lot especially in the NBC days. It was must see TV during my college days, everyone would gather in my dorm room and get their attitudes adjusted and watch Letterman. The Suit of Velcro, Suit of Chips and Dip, Stupid Pet Tricks, Stupid Human tricks, the most memorable had to be Sam Kinison. Holy cow :omg::lmao: we were not ready for that! For weeks after, we were all imitating Sam Kinison.......

Holy smokes! I left one of my favorites off my list. For some reason it just hit me this morning.

CHiPs.

I absolutely loved that show when I was a kid.

Everyone did not stick to a maximum of 20 shows, so it is likely True Blood will get some additional mentions later. I enjoyed the series very much and believe it is underrated by its critics.

FWIW, I limited my list to series that I have generally re-watched in their entirety more than once. Just my opinion for myself but really great entertaining shows make you want to see them over and over.

I have watched the majority of series posted throughout the thread. Many are outstanding dramas, comedies, etc., that have rightfully received critical acclaim along with their national or worldwide appeal.

However, most great shows do not draw me back while some do. I have even rewatched The Walking Dead UP TO Andrew Lincoln’s departure but have never watched the episodes that followed. It remains one of my favorite binge-worthy series regardless.

Yep. My mind’s weird like that.

My criteria for this thread were, "What shows did I look forward to seeing for the whole week?" or "Would I (or have I already) watch the series again, given the chance?" or "Did (does) watching this show make me audibly say things like 'MAN, this show is so ******* good!'"
