• Metallica
• Slayer
• AC/DC
• Black Sabbath
• Godsmack (these guys are the Black Sabbath of the 90s-2000s)
• Led Zeppelin
  
• Pantera
• Megadeth
• Ozzy (mostly Jake E. Lee and earlier, though some stuff with Zakk Wylde)
• G&R
• EDIT: Aerosmith quite a bit too

I think R&R can represent many different genre's... It sure as heck isn't just heavy metal IMO.

That's my top 10. I could listen to all of them on a continuous loop dailey but I find myself listening to SRV most of the time. He was called home far to early. There are some great guitarist of today and of years gone by that were in awe of how he could make his #1 talk. He bent those strings like no other and played with pure heart and emotion.

besides my own list, I think this is the best Ive seen in this thread....bout time someone besides me has Pantera and Slipknot on their list.......Metallica, Slayer and Eagles are all great choices as well.....

Pantera might be the most underrated band of all time. They had such good range, they could be as heavy as heavy gets, and be easy going when they needed to be (thinking Cemetery Gates).
