That just says it all right there. A guy that used to aspire to lead the league in rushing is now reduced to reaching 1000 yards in a 17 game season. Even Zeke knows he is washed up.

I think the new standard should be 1200 or 1250 yards.
As a 14 games season used as a standard. 72 YPG was needed for a 1000 yards season, that figures to 1244 yards at 17 games.

12 games, is 84 average, it at 17 that would be 1428 yards.
14 games, is 72 average, 17 would be 1244
16 games, is 63 average, 17 would come to 1071 yards.

I am sure there is some type of extrapolation can be done, but I don’t feel like messing with it right now.

I’d say it depends on ypc. If a RB gets 1,000 yards on 200 carries, that is great. Get 1,000 yards on. 250 carries, not so much.

I don't think any season should ever have a prime number of games. Forcing half the teams to play more road games than home is stupid.. I hope they just go ahead and make it 18 soon.

Crazy thing is hearing only 5 other rbs had 1k this year, at least heading into week 18.

The standards need to be elevated in the NFL 1,000 yd seasons should be a thing of the past, if it's not 1,500 yds then it should be looked at as a failed season.

Not for nothing, but currently, there are only 5 other backs with over 1000 yards. So technically, you are correct. Top 6.
