Respectfully disagree. Good teams can overcome. The Pats went 12-4 with all the Brady legal issues (plastered all over the media) in 2015 which went on for an entire year. Then went 3-1 without him with to begin last season. The team still has to play as a unit despite one single player's issues.
I'm not going to bad mouth the goat coach or QB, but that 3-1 was against some embarrassingly bad teams. I was at the Houston game, and that Houston team couldn't have beaten my high school team that day. They lost the only even remotely difficult game to Buffalo 16-0. Not to say we'd have gone 0-4 as this staff has proven they cannot beat even the worst teams without every cylinder firing perfectly.
As far as the 12-4, that proves something I wish this team had, the us vs. them mentality. It could be perception, but I don't get that from this current team. This massive distraction seems to make a team like ours fatigued, while a team like the Pats get fired up over it.
Some athletes and teams get better when presented with adversity, some don't perform as well. Is this what others have said about Zeke being a front runner? I don't totally agree given the substantial differences in the accusations, but there might be some meat on the bone here. Brady was seen as just trying to get a competitive edge (rubbing is racing), while Zeke is accused of being a heinous person.
