If he has not done it by now, he is not going to do it.

It amazes me that people still believe Jones is fuming and is going to do something about it.

It takes time to work something as significant as replacing the leadership at the top. Doubt owners will just terminate his contract and vote him out, but very unlikely that he gets an extension and that's where Jerry comes and persuade everyone that he's harmful to the business. Ratings are down, revenue will suffer and the perception of the league is as negative as any major sport has ever seen.

How is this guy getting suspended over this when the girl admitted she was lying to try and get him in trouble?
This isn't about DMV anymore (although Zeke is fighting to clear his name as he should) but more about procedure. NFL is fighting on grounds of article 46 in CBA that grants commissioner ultimate power. NFLPA is arguing on grounds of fundamental fairness. "Elliott v. NFL has long since moved past being about domestic violence. About process, procedure, CBA and Commissioner power."

Since we're changing the meaning of regular season, I have a proposal. How bout Zeke accepts a reduced 4 regular-season-game suspension and serves it throughout next year's preseason?
I like it.

Lets add 6 games to our regular season but they will be played on Madden.

Thats about how this season looks to me.

So I guess to make Madden NFL they are going to have to add court actions to the game so that you don't know who plays any given Sunday.

That would make it more realistic.

Then you could have a team of lawyers fight your legal actions to keep players playing.

A game within a game.

Perfect.

The fact that is delayed probably strengthens his case of getting the injunction. I am not a legal expert but Falia basically called it a blowout win for the NFL. If it was really a blowout then why the brief stay?

I think it would be more likely that 2 out of 3 judges agree with the previous ruling than the other way around. The stay is basically a technicality, administrative decision. We'll see what happens next week.

The NFL will argue that "regular season" is inclusive of "playoffs/post-season" if it comes to that, but I think they'll fail.

This is a case where being literal and explicit would have been helpful to them, unlike in the rules where they can be leave things vague and up to the judgement of the refs to interpret in ways that certain elements in the NFL want the flow and the outcome of the games to go.
