You're on the money, actually.

The effectiveness of the offense put a lot of pressure on the defense, because our offense was scoring left and right, and not taking much time.

Like you said, the Bears had the ball for 14 more minutes of TOP. That's a lot of time. Those long drives that chew up the clock are really devastating.

It really depends on the team. I think the Cowboys felt like they could have more success with Pollard this game, and Zeke was hurt so they just played it safe and rolled with Pollard. It worked out.
then stop the damn run and get off the field is my suggestion

Pollard had a roughly 45% increase in carries. The difference to me appeared to be Pollard’s ability to make guys miss on the second level.
Pollard has had 11, 12, and 13 carries in games this season. Why not such a big difference then?

A few carries doesn't completely change the offense.

The game today was just called differently. It needs to be called that way regardless of who is playing. Knowing Moore, he'll revert to the usual soon enough.

What are you talking about?

Look at Pollard’s productivity versus Zeke’s the past few years.

The difference is the players not the scheme.

I wonder how bad it would have to get before the last Zeke defender gives up. A yards per carry below 4 and a yards per completion below 5? Cause he is almost there.

Jerry is stuck in the 90s when Emmitt was the straw that stirred the drink. Zeke was great, he’s now an anchor around the teams neck.

Jerry is paying him big bucks, so Zeke is the guy. Anything else you need to know about the state of General Mgt for the Cowboys?

The defense not getting themselves off the field is why the time of possession was skewed so bad.

I can’t believe the argument being used is that the offense is less explosive when he plays and that’s a good thing. Come on
The offense CAN score too fast, like with a 3-&-Score drive which rest wise is no different than a 3-&-Out. But looking at the TOP for the first 4 scoring drives, all between 2:35 - 4:32, the offense was scoring quickly, but not "too fast".

Just like with the Parsons TD. The D looked awfully tired on the following drive.

I'm a HUGE fan of the methodical, pound it down their throats for 10+ minute drives. But I'll also be the first to admit, when they only end up with 3 points instead of 7, then those drives are more of a booster for the D than for the O. You have to score touchdowns more times than not.

In any case, if/when the offense scores quickly, then the D needs to get the ball back to them quickly if they want bigger rests. That just didn't happen this week.

I think the D paid too much attention to "Fields the passer" vs "Fields the runner", but that's just me.

Today, TPollard has the same yards per game, as Zeke......63.3 yds, with one more game and after a great game. KMoore is the ultimate progress stopper. Let's see if this is Overreation Day. You can't expect "home run" plays all the time in the NFL.....you just can't. BTW.....TPollard had a great game.

The hatred on here for zeke makes no sense. He's playing as well as he has since his rookie year and doing what the coaches ask him to do.

If you guys are mad, be mad at the gm and coaches

True .....fans forget or overlook, they both have different running styles. Zeke is a downhill runner, not a lot of quickness or speed but he wears defenses down. I read a few times where opposing coaches have said you have to be on the sideline to hear the impact or pounding offensive players take when tackling him. I still think we need BOTH but Pollard should def get just as many carries, if not more.

Defenses are a lot more scared of Pollard than Zeke and it showed in the play action / rollout game as well.

We missed Elliot today, make no mistake about it. We were scoring too fast. We would’ve Pounded the ball a little bit more today than we did . Tony Pollard is a phenomenal player I’m glad we have him. Zeke is every bit as valuable

You miss his 2 yard runs that leave us with 3rd and long? The offense is so predictable with him.

They run Zeke on first down. 2 yard gain. 2nd and 8
Dak throws incomplete. 3rd and 8
Dak sacked, 4th and 8

I’ve seen that sequence so many times.

I like the Pollard option better. It leaves play action in the mix when he gains more yards than Zeke on running plays.

The issue with that argument pertaining to the last game is that the offense was scoring touchdowns almost every time they had the ball.

Scoring a touchdown is always a good thing whether it takes 13 plays and 8 minutes or 1 play and 12 seconds.

The cowboys defense also holds responsibility for getting themselves off the field. They allowed way too many rushing yards at too high yardage per rush. If the offense wasnt elite yesterday the cowboys would have gotten a beat down.

He’s fat he’s slow and the most overpaid athlete in professional sports after Deshaun Watson.

.....3rd down efficiency was an anamoly yesterday....not a norm.

Nobody can stop Tony Pollard except Zeke.
Pollard had a great day yesterday, but make no mistake when they're playing the playoff caliber teams the Zekster is going to be needed to block against the teams that like to blitz. Pollard is a LOUSY blocker, he struggles bigtime at picking up the blitzing backers and CBs. When a block is missed in the backfield it could be disastrous for Prescot and his health!
