Looks no different than he did the last few years.
Well, he looked like the best we got and it wasn’t close.

Hate on Jerry or free agent decisions but Zeke was clearly the best back we have

I’m not happy!

Don’t get me wrong, but complaining about decisions made 3 months ago doesn’t change our current situation.

Was I th eonly one that was looking at Zeke and thinking, damn, he looks thin? I am thinking he is 10-13 lbs lighter than his last season in Dallas.
Nope. It was very evident that Zeke was a lighter version of the one who left the team a few years ago. However, it didn't really translate into much. He had 10 carries for 40 yards.

Stanback said that the stengrth and conditioning program for New England and Dallas compete different philosophy. In New England everybody pumps and typically get bigger or in ore shape as the season wears in contrast in Dallas where’s it’s just maintenance and recovery and guys will get smaller as the season progresses.. they said it’s really evident with the front sevens and probabaly why Dallas dlinemen look like they slow down in pressures and sacks toward the end of the year. I member we were on pace for the record for sacks in a season based off the trajectory in October. And then it balances down

Fact is he helped our team win. Why would you not be happy about that?
He did get taken down a couple times and line still needs to make some holes. But it was respect. I'd say exceeded your 1-2 ypc expectations even.

“I’m not happy” because I think RB is still an opportunity.

I’m just not willing to buy into the “hur dur fat Zeke Jerry sucks” mentality that many have.

That ship has sailed. Were ride or die with Zeke as RB1 barring something way out of left field.

4.0 yp , td, crushing blocks. He helped us win, when the other rbs weren't doing much.

These guys are so embarrassed ( and angry)it wasn't 1 ypc they have to double down in hopes the next game gets the told ya sos.

Nice game zeke welcome back!
He had a couple of de-cleaters against blitzers that made me blow juice out of my nose laughing. Dude is such a football player. People who don't want to embrace what he brings need to check themselves.

It also bears stating that later in the year as the weather turns foul teams throw it less and thus opportunities for sacks drop. Nothing happens in a vacuum especially when it comes to football.

So a 4.0 average for a player that had no PS snaps, running behind an OL with 2 new starters and rookies at that. An OL that has not played together and was their 1st game.
against the 2023 top NFL defense. Plus he caught a few passes for decent yards as well.
Oh, and the 4.0 average is considered decent by the way for the NFL.
He did better than Dowdle.

I will take that.

Zeke looked good to me, seemed quicker. If our ol jells I could see him having some nice runs. We need to get him involved in the screen game too, he has more to offer than how we used him Sun.

He still loves chucking the snot out of defensive linemen. That's a tough cat right there. Dirty work some just can't seem to appreciate.

Zeke came into the league being lauded for having wide receiver like hands. I still remember that 47 yarder he caught against the Lions in that one game where he basically ran a 9 route and Dak dropped it in the bucket and Zeke caught it over the shoulder like a wide receiver. The Cowboys have never truly taken advantage of that aspect of his game but in fairness with the exception of those first 5 games of 2018 they've always had at least one badass receiver and a legit tight end who they felt were better options in the passing game. It was no surprise to me that in New England where they didn't have a lot of weapons Zeke had a very productive year as a receiver. But unless some team comes out and completely blankets all of our other receivers Zeke will remain an afterthought in the passing game here.. and I bet he's just fine with that.. so long as we're winning.

Yeah DBs don't even need to apply. DB blitzers get turned into highlight reels by Zeke. Most linebackers as well. It's really fun to watch... provided you don't just hate the guy for reasons I can't really fathom.
