I don;t get it either....it was said earlier other RBs LOOK much better....but I'm not convinced it's all the RB's, that's just an easy cop out.
I was a little surprised and disappointed at what I saw too. But I will comfort myself in believing that McCarthy went totally vanilla in the second half because he had a big lead and a defense that was smothering the opposing offense. In that sense he is far superior to Kellen Moore because you know that idiot would have shown the kitchen sink in a blowout game like that trying to prove what a genius he is.

I noticed that last year in New England. Didn't make him less washed, though.
If he's lost why is his numbers just as good as Derrick Henry's? Playing with two rookies in front of him game 1,against one of the better defensive fronts and front sevens and football but that's what you call wash? Hey for sure is not the old seek and he's for sure not gonna be our frontline starter I'd like to see Rico get more carries the Coleman washed that came in and I could compare him to a whole lot of running backs that have big names from week one that didn't do **** how about Jacobs? about the ones that didn't even make it to game one because they got injured like Dylan and others Christian McCaffrey with his reoccurring he didn't have he had 0 stats... Go check all these big name running backs especially the older ones you know with more than four or five years experience tell me how they did in game one and you're gonna find there wasn't a lot of them that had four yards per carry and a touchdown that wasn't bad for the scenario we put him in he's not gonna be the old site but he's definitely not washed either because if he's washed so is Derrick Henry I mean his quarterback Derek Henry's quarterback had 122 yards rushing and Derrick Henry looked like a Jack I mean his 1st 15-16 minutes of the game he was under 3 yards per carry..

4.0 yards a carry is what got him a ticket out of Dallas. Now, I realize its week one, but we got him instead of Derrick Henry or Aaron Jones. So, he's got to make some plays.
That’s kinda ironic that you mentioned Derrick Henry in this post. He averaged less than 4.0 yards a carry in his game

Because we are talking about one game instead of the entire 2023 season...... or in Zeke's case, the past 3 seasons. :omg:

Well he looked better than I thought he would.

That said, watching Barkley is going to very very irritating for years to come. He will give us alot of headaches and cause some losses.

Barkley will be hurt by week 5 and miss at least 6 games.. And before anybody chastises me for wishing injury on a player.. I am doing no such thing. He has shown himself to be fragile over the years and don't see that changing as he gets older.

I understand his history, but he will not be taking hits in the backfield as much like he did with the Giiants. I figure he will be more healthy this year cause of the team around him, but we will see.

Fair enough... but being on a better team hasn't stopped McCaffery from getting hurt. Even though I think he played all 17 last year he had to play through some injuries but was able to because they were upper body not legs. Barkley's issues have typically been lower body and that has to do with his style of running. He might make it through the season unscathed but I'm not betting the farm on it.

It's fair to speculate based on past history.....CMC is proving that right now

Tua is another guy just one minor hit away from another concussion.....once those start the next ones come easier.....unfortunately

Yep.. it's like death and taxes.. NFL players become MORE injury prone as they "mature" not less. Zeke was a durable as a tank his first 5 seasons.. then his humanity set in. He can still do thangs but he will need be managed for the rest of his career. No more 30 carry games with a side of 5 receptions IN ADDITION to 40 snaps in pass protection. His body won't take it.. 12-15 carries 2-3 catches and maybe 15-20 times putting his body in harms way to protect Dak would seem more reasonable at this stage. Or better still let the 240 pound fullback do it. Assuming he has the football IQ to not get Dak killed like the Gronkowski brother did to Romo in 2010.

Agreed. The RB's this year remind me of the year Dallas ended up trading for Amari because the WR's were so bad.
Yep. It's looked that way all offseason. Cook may have something to offer, but I'd feel a heckuva lot better if they traded for a more dynamic player to compliment what's otherwise a really good looking offense.
