Both.

But Zeke is headed down the Henry Melton path. He'll be a defensive tackle at this body pace.
That's what I'm thinking. Barkley just looks like he will be the same size/player/look for the next 10 years. Zeke already looks like he's aged 7 years.

225 vs. 228, yeah he is waaay out of shape.

Compare the 1st pic on the right to the others...

This.

Barkley is not all that different, as a prospect, than Reggie Bush. He has to show an element to his game - running between the tackles against difficult boxes - that he never did in college to be the same type of prospect as Zeke.
Barkley is tons better as a prospect than Reggie Bush was.

Many had Barkley as the #1 overall prospect and some thought he’d go #1. I think he’s definitely the higher rated prospect. If he can produce behind that line that would say a lot.
Giants just added Solder and Will Hernandez. It's not "that line" any more.

Your exactly right! Anyone that has watched Barkley play would also see that the chances of him being a top 3 back in the league are greater than him being a bust.

Not based on what they did in college - they were the same player.

People see Barkley's size and think he's a power back, he's not. Like Reggie Bush, he's unreal when he gets space, but he hasn't shown any ability to run between the tackles. He probably can do that better than Bush simply because of his size, but it's not something he's ever shown.

lol I remember when Cowboys fans tried to compare DeMarco to Bush. IMO Barkely has some Bush in him as far as not great between the tackles and likes to dance a bit too much at times. Obviously Barkley is a bigger back. I'd take Barkley over Bush any day.

No, they weren't. Not even close. Bush was never the every down back. He split carries w/ Lendale White and was always more of a "get him in space" type.

Barkley only had 17 more carries than Bush in their junior year....and ran for like 500 fewer yards, fwiw.

Barkley is a "get him in space" type. He was the definition of it in college, he just didn't have any complimentary backs. When he tried to run between the tackles against stacked boxes, he didn't have any success, which is why his YPC was so much lower than Bush (5.9 vs 8.37).

It’s just not the oline Zeke got his first year. Not even close.
It could be a lot closer than you think. Have no idea who that OL they added from CAR is, Omameh, but he's a veteran starter.

Lol, I remember that! Some joker on NFL.com put that in a scouting report and it became gospel.

Murray was a pure north-south guy, but a damn good one.

Now look at their skillsets and build. Barkley is an every down back. He might be more of an outside runner, but he's an every down back. Could be bellcow.

Bush is built lightly and could never take that type of pounding. You're trying to compare an every down outside RB to a 3rd down back. It's really not even close.

Zeke had the best OL we've seen in a decade his rookie season. Four all-pro caliber players and a solid 5th man.

Giants arent going to go from one of the worst Olines in the league to one of the best lines we've seen in recent history. Even with adding an average LT and a good guard prospect. It won't be close.
