Zeke: We have to commit to the run

Zeke is truly intelligent, you have a no 2 qb, of course you have to turn to the run. We are very talented at being one of the most penalized teams in the league, it's hard to run the ball getting 4ypc when you have 5-10 yard penalties.

Probably, they run him because he's making a lot of money, have to placate the fans who think just because he gets paid handsomely somehow he can run through 300 lb linemen, 250 lb linebackers and juke his way out from two would-be tacklers who are in the backfield before he can take two steps.

Ain't it amazing what money can do?
Yes...10 carries is really making him ear that money!

That haven;t done your theory in a couple years. If Zeke doesn't get 20+ carries a game (in general)....then not only are we not getting our money's worth (making him EARN it!)....we are probably losing.

It happens FAR to often to be blamed on getting behind or penalties. It's Moore' very basic philosophy. He wants NCAA Mountain West Conference Passing numbers.

And Moore it too stupid or stubborn to know the defense also knows that and how to fool them.

BTW...Zeke was popping 5 yarders for the first half....pretty good for the that early in the game. Then Moore benched him. STUPID!

How do we know Dak is checking out or NOT checking into runs when he needs too? All you do is blame Moore.

Last year, Moore against Tampa called 28 run plays and Dak checked out of 12 of them.

But last year Tampa was also not even bothering to send safety help over to the side of Amari and all Dak had to do was play pitch and catch with him to a tune of 16 receptions.

Nobodg is dumb enough to do that consistently.

Dark fanboys and the whole world were telling us it’s Dak’s offense now and it’s about him ‘airing’ it out and it’s no longer Zeke’s team big Dak’s. After bashing Amari ‘disappearing’ as the main reason this team sucks and Zeke losing a step, they now back to Zeke needing to run more.

It’s cute..

If your theory is true...I still blame moore. The OC is supposed to train the QB to make the right call.

So you think 10 carries a game is the best use of Zeke?

Cute, indeed.

Dude is in year 8 as a QB. It’s the OC job to give the QB the option to run of pass, from there it’s the QB’s responsibility. Like I said, this was last year. That’s a significant chunk of play-calling where run was the primary option.

I doubt it’s the OC checking out of runs.

And BTW, this was the data for the amount of 8 man in the boxes TB played that game, meaning it’s clear that Dak was benefitting from a team that didn’t care about his threat as a passer:

We know who's next to get cut. Last season Cooper made mention of getting more targets (especially on 3rd down) they shipped him out for a nickel and a package of Skittles in the offseason. Zeke is right, but he may have to pay for that statement when the season is over.
IF you think thats why Cooper was cut you are delusional.

Why would I think that, if I said both he and Cooper are scapegoats for the resident QB?

Dak sucks and has wasted the career of the guy whose made his life incredibly easy and made him really wealthy. Zeke’s career was wasted the moment they made Dak officially the starter. Zeke was drafted for Romo and at that moment, Dallas closed by themselves the small SB window they had.

Even what is arguably the best game of Dak’s career, last year against Tampa, shows how incredibly Zeke impacted the game as far as defensive alignment, besides the fact he was blistering extra rushers with his top flight pass blocking. But he’s at the tail end of his career.

He’s been wasted because of Dak period.

With Coop it was a few things, not just one. He didn't always show up on road games, made decisions that cost him to miss games and then spoke out about targets.

When you watch the running plays you can see the Cowboys OL did a good job pushing the defense back, and that is a stout defense. I was surprised to see how many time Vita Vea was on the ground and put there by the Cowboys OL.

This team has to at least try and run the ball. But now with Rush at QB, teams will load up the box and dare the Cowboys to throw it. If they see 8 and 9 man fronts they would be stupid to not try to throw.

One other point, the Bucs were playing tight coverage because they did not fear the run as much. But if teams load up to stop the run, even the Cowboys mediocre WRs should be able to get open against what should be looser coverages.

I went back and read it again. I took your comment wrong. Sorry. Thank you for being gentle (civil) with me!

Really solid work there. It wasn't flashy, but he had creases to hit, he made good reads and he got an extra 2-4 yards after contact.

This is how you grind down a defense and break their will.
It is how! Unless you have a stupid stubborn OC.
