And yes, it's still possible that he did do this. I've never suggested otherwise. And I also agree that the league has wide latitude to punish as they see fit.

But IMO, they still have to follow some sort of protocols and look at all the evidence. They can't just create a narrative and an outcome that they feel will be beneficial to them and then backfill to make that punishment stand.

Unless the league has more evidence than they have let out publicly, this is looking more and more like this was a witch hunt where the league had a high profile player involved in DV and they needed to make amends for past screw ups.

Now why would a woman being abused be upset that he does not want her around?

Good article, the end of it really stands out though. But again, we'll never know what evidence their referring to, because they are refusing to release their findings.

Again though, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.That's the point that so many people are missing. Is she the scum of the earth? It appears that she is. But, that doesn't mean that he's incapable of harming her, and this isn't about her, this is about him.

Why does it even matter if he has publicly denied it? Well, maybe it will to the league that just seems to take people's word.

Elliot shouldn't have to "clear" himself of DV charges. That is how the NFL has flipped the script, so to speak. The burden of proof is on the one making the claim, in this case, the accuser, and should likewise be on the NFL.

I agree it is hard to prove you didn't do something. I could say Goodell looks at child porn and does drugs, now Roger prove you don't? How is Elliott going to prove he did not do it? If all it takes is a woman claiming she was abused then players really better watch out because it is open season on you guys with every little gold digger out there to take you down

Sounds like the photos, with time stamps, was the key evidence as well. It matched her story, so they were able to stitch together a chronology of the abuse. Also medical examiners look at the pics and said they were consistent with DV. Nobody is disputing the fact she is a known liar, crazy, violent, mean spirited and manipulative. But it doesn't mean Zeke didn't abuse her that week.

Doesn't mean he did either. There is not enought evidence to reasonably suspend him. Period.

He had an opportunity to deny it this week and he didn't.

That's why I think this case is so dangerous, and why the league shouldn't have the ability to overwrite the law. If I'm a less than stable female, I'd look at the precedence set by the league as my chance to get rich.

Part of me thinks the league has released their best evidence in that letter to Elliott. That they have photo evidence, some medical testimony and they can use time stamps and metadata to confirm the photos came from the dates in question and she and Elliott were together at that time.

And I think that's why they don't want to release their report. Because they know it's 160 pages of circumstantial evidence that they've tried to cobble together.
