I think we are all disappointed in week 1 statistical performance of Zeke.
So many already calling him a bust and making fun of the ROY talk.
So I took a look around the league to put our running struggles into some perspective.

Zeke Elliott 20 for 51 = 2.5ypc
Tevin Coleman 8 for 22. =2.8ypc
Adrian Peterson 19 for 31. =1.6ypc
TJ Yeldon 21 for 39. =1.9ypc
Doug Martin 18 for 62 = 3.4ypc
Lasean McCoy 16 for 58 = 3.6ypc
Demarco Murray 13 for 42 = 3.2ypc
Devonta Freemen 11 for 20 = 1.8ypc
Derrick Henry 5 for 3 yards = 0.3 Ypc
Arian Foster 13 for 38 = 2.9 ypc
Thomas Rawls 12 for 32 = 2.7ypc
Lamar Miller 28 for 106 = 3.8ypc

Emmitt Smith 1st game. 2 for 2 yards- 1ypc

It seems to be that running the ball effectively just wasn't happening today in the league.

Its way too early for people to panic on Zeke's first game. (but man it did suck)

He's created an uphill climb to top Dickerson's record, for sure.

One positive was he seemed to move forward even with no apparent daylight. Didn't notice too many losses. That said, that is a low bar for the fourth pick. We'll see - even the best backs experience games such as this. Won't be worried unless and until it becomes a trend.

He needs to get better.

We drafted a RB 4th overall in the draft. I give the Giants (especially Harrison) a lot of credit but today was not near worth the pick.

Jaylon Ramsey looked pretty good by the way and our defense could use him and just about anyone else with a lick of talent.

Most cocerning thing is most of those guys didn't ahve the OL Zeke had. Flip side of that is most of those guys didn't have a rookie QB starting with them.

I'm not worried but I still think we should ease him in and play Morris more.

Only two of those players were drafted in the top 5, and one of them was drafted in the top 5 to the team with the Best O line in the league.

And only 2 of those players were playing in their first career game. Our guy did better.
And he was playing against a defense that was stacked to stop him and willing to take their chances on a rookie QB not being able to consistently beat them down field.

He barely practiced or played in the preseason. That's not good for a rookie.

Our OL looked mightily OVERRATED today.....

I'm more disappointed that the RBs were not a weapon in the passing game. Gnats weakness was the LBs in coverage.

Remember that article from Tony Dungy explaining how to beat a rookie QB?
Amazing that the giants did the exact thing that Dungy said to do and our coaching staff actually played the fools part so well. They did exactly what I thought they would...And we did exactly what they thought we would.

Carson Wentz was allowed to play the whole position today and the eagles won.
Prescott and Zeke were forced to play in a limited predictable offense and we lost.
