Without trading down, the other option was Ramsey. I dont think Ramsey changes the dynamics of the team like the impact Zeke had.
Ramsey. What's more valuable- a shut down corner or a RB?

After playing for several seasons, Ramsey was traded away for TWO first round draft picks, plus a fourth round draft pick.

Zeke's residual value was a massive dead cap hit.

BTW, Ramsey just signed a 3-year $72.3M extension. He is still a valuable player, long after Zeke was worthless

Posted for the very real possibility that the Cowboys could be featuring another 1st round RB next season.

The impact is undeniable.

This is how we have to win as long as we have this QB. Dominant run game but with a better defense than what we fielded in 2016.

Best year to have made it back to another SB and blow it.

Jerry would have never traded Ramsey, he would have gotten a record breaking extension with drop in play after. Is a shutdown cb a better value overall? Yes, without question, but was it a better value for Dallas at that time? I dont think so.

At the time we had a decent defense. Zeke was picked to compliment Romo. It's my opinion that would have worked out fantastic, if not for injury AND keeping him on the bench.

If both a star RB and a star WR are there what would you do?

I know what Jerry will do.

Dude was beast. He gave his body to this team. He knew JJ was going to run the wheels off of him. I did not like him holding out 2 years early. But I understand why. We just need a HC or OC that will not abandon the run game. We will likely get a new O-Line coach and I hope he is a power running guy. Need another starter or a few of the rookies to take a step forward and a RB.

So let's go draft a guy who played in the MAC and has a ton of mileage. Zeke was different Jeanty is not.

Not sure. Ohio State O line was fantastic. Yes Zeke had power and speed, but he often wasn't touched until he was past the line of scrimmage. Heck, Ohio State has 12 players drafted that year.

Jeanty has better vision and balance. Testing will be interesting at the combine. Our O line his first 2 years controlled the Line Of Scrimmage. We were fantastic.

Jeanty has a much higher character than Zeke.

They had a top 5ish defense that year too. Helped the defense a ton with the run game

The Cowboys should have drafted Ramsey. The second round would have brought Derrick Henry.

So instead of Zeke and Jaylon Smith the Cowboys could have had Ramsey and Henry. Which combo would you choose?
