If Rush continues to play well I am sure another team will make him an offer that the Cowboys will not match. Cowboys can not afford to pay 2 QB's top dollar. The Cowboys have decided that Dak is their guy so they will live or die with Dak.
Isn't Cooper under contract next year for peanuts?

Well, that is the whole problem in Dallas. The Jones boys have too much skin in the game on Dak. They annointed him with that huge contract and benching him in favor of a QB who they recently exposed to waivers is more egg than they can handle. You can bet it won't be the coaches making the call at QB.

No, UFA after this season.

Just saw the post below earlier in the thread.
Who's right?

Cooper Rush signed a 2 year, $1,955,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including an average annual salary of $977,500. In 2022, Rush will earn a base salary of $1,035,000, while carrying a cap hit of $977,500.

How dumb would they look if Rush wins a few more games, Dak comes back and Dallas begins losing? While Dak is a better QB than Rush in most measurables, clearly something is going on that has allowed Rush to help Dallas succeed.
The reality is that Dak is playing regardless of what Rush does and unless he flat out tanks he’s playing, you don’t sit a healthy QB making top dollar, you are tied to him for at least 2 additional seasons.

That is from Spotrac and if you look at them or overthecap both show Rush as an UFA after this season.

This is from Sept. 2022

"Rush, who stands to see some significant time with Prescott nursing a thumb injury, is currently playing on a one-year deal with a base salary of $1.035 million."

Play calling has changed drastically....hopefully KM keeps this same type of ge planning for Dak.

Yeah, establishing the run game and simplifying the passing game.

Just conversation. It has been beat to death and will continue to get pounded. Forum rhetoric. :)
there's already 17 other threads on the same subject but kudos for needing your own Narcissist. A hater in sheeps clothing, i thought Jones was dumb for not having a plan at Backup QB, OL, WR, S, LB, DE and doesn't know who to sho FA

yup it was said all offseason this was historically the worst Offseason of all time and Jones didn't restock the team with talent and had no plan for depth anywhere.
now hes dumb for playing a player no one wanted but replacing him with the bonified proven vet after 2 wins against weak teams by squeaking out few late wins against the very teams dak beat by 2-3 scores the last NINE GAMES, Daks 6-0 against east last year and the point differential was legendary. It looks like typo the beatings were so bad.

really,

so Jones is dumb either way.. no matter what, fans will find way to say hes stupid for keeping rush , now don't bench him..Hypocrites!! dammed if you do dammed if you dont, that sums it up!

pretty much every move this team has made this offseason is contributing to wins. so ill trust they know bets when Daks ready to come back. zero to do with saving face..players, national media, and most sane fans understand, and Rush has done well but Daks the better player.

1) Dak has a no trade clause in his deal
2) The Cowboys are still stuck with a massive amount of dead money. It would make more sense to keep Dak on as a high dollar backup than trade him this year.
Didn't know about the no trade clause......shucks I guess we have no choice but to endure the cap pain!
