That’s what we do!!Great, let's just compound idiot moves with one more idiot move.

......thats what he does against great offenses...he goes AWOL.
Bills, Packers, Dolphins, and now the Bengals.
However in fairness, working besides these crap DTs isn't exactly helping his cause
I only saw him crying on the sideline. I believe that means he's a terrible player.Micah played in that game?
I wonder if this is Zimmer's way of getting him to move around. They mentioned during the game how Zimmer gives him the flexibility to line up anywhere and attack, but he seems to settle in more at the left defensive end spot while Zimmer wants him to move and keep the offense guessing. We haven't seen him come up the middle as much, or as effectively, as he did under Quinn, so maybe this would be Zimmer's way of getting him to do that. Its about Flipping time. He was a blitzing 4-3 MLB in College and Zimmer can use him like Anthony Barr in his prime.
did you watch the game? the man was doubled and tripled team most of the game. you should be asking why didn't anyone else get any pressure on the QB?Micah was a non-factor against the Bengals, zero tackles, zero sacks. If he doesn't contribute as a DE, he's even less of a LB.
But this is what's gets me - Zimmer lets Parsons line up where PARSONS wants...HUH who is the freakin coach.I wonder if this is Zimmer's way of getting him to move around. He had a bunch of pressures so he shouldn't be overly criticized for ending up with no sacks (Burrow did a good job of feeling pressure, escaping and throwing on the run.) But a good thing can always be better.
I think a lot of DCs give their best players flexibility to attack where they see fit. I remember one Sounds from the Sideline under Quinn where Lawrence and Parsons were talking on the sideline and plotting how they were going to attack the guard and tackle based on how they had been setting. They essentially worked out their own game to exploit the alignment. But this is what's gets me - Zimmer lets Parsons line up where PARSONS wants...HUH who is the freakin coach.
Beyond basic football 101 - you line up your elite pass rusher at RDE aka "The Blind Side" - they even made a movie about it, but nooo
not in Jerry world - the player dictates where he plays.
Not to mention that Parsons is the prototypical 3-4 OLB but yet Jethro goes out and gets a coach that runs the 4-3...
Truly sad what this once storied franchise has become.
This is really what Zim wanted to begin with. If you look at his history his DEs are usually in the 250-270 range. Micah while a great pass rusher is light in the wallet. I think Zim capitulated to try and adapt his scheme to the players which I felt was a mistake In this case.Zimmer is a mess. Please get him out of here.
but jerry will still pay him 50 mil a year !Micah was a non-factor against the Bengals, zero tackles, zero sacks. If he doesn't contribute as a DE, he's even less of a LB.

Yes and that’s fine - no problem with moving him around - I always have said that in the game threads - my problem is Parsons taking the vast majority of the snaps on the strong side.I think a lot of DCs give their best players flexibility to attack where they see fit. Also with Kneeland being back and Golston playing well on run downs at end, he can afford to put Micah at linebacker on early downs. Injuries have really slowed down implementing his scheme. A lot of adjustments have had to be made for missing players, including Micah. No surprise that we're having to make more.Overshown getting hurt sucks. But I would expect an improved run D with Micah at LB. As time goes on Zimmer seems to finally be able to put his scheme into play.
Don't think Zimmer viewed Sam as an edge setter. That's why we drafted Kneeland. I think Williams was viewed as primarily a pass rusher. What was supposed to happen is Dlaw and Sam Williams would set the edge and hold up blocks in the run game allow Micah to Rome free and make plays all over the field. Instead you have Micah taking on blocks all game because of the glory that comes with pass rushing. Had he played LB from the start of this season he’d be in a position to make more “impactful” plays in the run game and still get an opportunity to rush the passer.
Dang sounds like a beast. I guess teams will notice that and his value will still be high thendid you watch the game? the man was doubled and tripled team most of the game. you should be asking why didn't anyone else get any pressure on the QB?
