Zoners: Thank you God for the Red Headed Genius

If the o-line plays good, then Garrett will be considered a genius.

If the o-line gets destroyed and Romo gets hurt again, the fans and media will be calling for Garrett's head.

Bottom line is winning fellas. If Garrett doesnt win he will not be the HC forever like some of you guys are suggesting. Let Garrett have 3 consequtive non playoff seasons and fans will be calling for a public hanging. It may not be fair, but that is professional sports. The head coach is ultimately responsible for the wins and losses of the team, period.

I posted something similar above except that Jerry will be the one ripped, not Garrett.

Zoners,

Are you folks as EXCITED as I am with Coach Garrett calling the shots in Big D?:starspin
!

But I was told Jerry always calls the shots, even when Jimmy and BP were here. Or could it be certain coaches here really did/do have more power than others?

only when the move turns out badly

Who told you this? Just curious because I doubt very much that you have been told this.

We are only focusing on the positives right now ;)

Rob Ryan has a PLAN FOR THE D! He is keeping it SECRET from his brother.

Man Crazy, I am thankful for your contribution to this site......for real.

I read it on here. I'm sure you can use the search function and look it up. I've seen people post where coaches like Johnson and Parcells were given more power than others, but was told that Jerry's always been the GM and done things the same way. Apparently not.

I figured as much. In other words someone disagreed with you in some way so you have assigned them that mentality.

I know it wasn't me though because I am the guy who has stripped Jerry of some of the mythical power everyone gives him. There is no way on this earth you can accuse me of saying he calls all the shots. He doesn't, and never has.

Common sense, really. What else is new?

I love how fans credit Jerry for everything that goes wrong with this team but everything that goes right is a Garrett move.

I'm a fan of Garrett. But i'm going to wait until the season is over to judge him.

Jones hiring Garrett was the right move. So does Garrett also get the credit for Jerry hiring him? :laugh2:

Great post CC I am with you on that ride...man is it going to be fun...buckle up:)

I'm excited now, but that may diminish if it doesn't translate onto the field. But I believe it will.

I too have high hopes for this team. Its clear the teams new philosophy is focused on youthful players earning their right to play and that philosophy is LONG overdue.

We as Cowboys fans have suffered too many years watching Jerry hold onto older veterans that played well at one time, but were past their prime or lost their will to give 110% effort for the team.
:mummy:

As for all the naysayers that claim to be diehard Cowboys fans, I wholeheartedly agree with this insiteful statement:

The problem with being a pessismist is that you end up rooting against your own team in hopes of being right.

Let's be positive and root for our teams success, not its demise.......
