Excuse me while I get my glass.........
Excuse me while I get my glass.........
Here are the reasons from every angle.
Why would Dallas do it?
Stafford has 3 years left on his contract.
Much better cap situation than what Dak will be.
Stafford is better than Dak and would crush in our offense
Just turned 32 and would easily fulfill his contract and maybe another few years.
Could end up gaining a 1st rd pick (will explain later)
Why would Det do it?
They are in place to get Tua if they choose
They are rebuilding
They could add an extra 1st rd pick. Maybe Tua and Fulton instead of Okuda
By trading Stafford and drafting Tua the staff buys some time to rebuild and likely can keep their jobs for a few years.
Why would Stafford go along with it?
He's a local kid and grew up a Cowboys fan
He has potential HOF numbers but likely wouldn't get in unless he gets a chance to win some big games.
Better talent around him.
He's getting older and our OL could prolong his career.
His kids get to be around the grandparents.
The best cancer treatment center in the country is in Tex(his wife has a brain tumor)
How would it go down?
Tag Dak with the non exclusive tag. New England or New Orleans(if Brees retires)or another team picking late decides he is worth giving up 2 1sts for him.
We trade the newly acquired 2020 1st rd pick to Det for Stafford. We still have pick 17 and gain an extra 2021 1st rd pick. We save cap space and gain a Qb built to win now. Reports are that he is fully recovered from injury and by sitting out the season he avoided any long term damage.
You forgot to mention Garrett has two rings & Fitz is the only NFL quarterback to have defeated the Egals with 5 different teams.Garrett got a 36 and Ryan Fitzpatrick got a 47. Wonderlic is not a IQ test. Stop it. What’s your point?

Darn it. I thought Brady was coming to Dallas. Here are the reasons from every angle.

It's all pie in the sky and totally unrealisticYou’re trading a .500 QB for a losing quarterback, and that’s your upgrade?
I would guarantee numerous teams lining up to give up 2 first rounders for Dak.I like Stafford, I really do. I would swap Dak out in a heart beat for him. But people have to stop coming up with scenarios that have teams giving up two first rounders for Dak and then have to sign him to a monster deal. We're talking about dak. Not Joe Montana or Patrick Mahomes
But Dak pads stats. Stafford has been doing it for years lol. Love how the argument only works one way with people who don’t like DakHasn't Dak schooled that loser every time they have played? Lmao. Some of you are ridiculous. Stafford is a career loser and a stat padder. Has never won a big game to save his life. And falls on his face in every playoff game.
NFL all-time leader in fourth-quarter comeback wins (on a per game basis)I do know better. Stafford is lame. He’s had some decent teams....he’s like cousins,...looks good sometimes for a game or two but will fold eventually.
Thinking he’s not responsible to win football games is how teams get stuck with bad QB dealsImagine thinking that wins and losses are a QB stat.
Name a few. By numerous, I assume you mean 5 or more.I would guarantee numerous teams lining up to give up 2 first rounders for Dak.
Umm , Dak's record is 40–24 , genius.....................Carson Putz is more of a .500 QB............His record is like 32-25....................
He has a lot of 4th quarter comebacks because he’s always losing in the 4th quarter. It’s an odd stat to have when your career win-loss record is so mediocreIt's all pie in the sky and totally unrealistic
But Stafford is a 12-4 QB all day long in Dallas.
But again, it's all make-believe anyway
And for those saying Stafford is stat padder, just look it up. On a per-game basis, he is the NFL's all-time leader in 4th quarter game-winning drives. Ahead of every single player that ever played. That's not a perception or opinion...or anything based on emotion..., that is factual data.
Having said that, Dak is Dallas' QB of the future and this is a non topic.

Dak's our QBBy what measure is Stafford better?
completion %? No
yards per completion? No
TD %? No
INT %? No
passer rating? No
Wins & losses? No
Seems like a feelz thing.
