My thing is Jerry and Co. don't actually have a plan in place. Basically trading a #1 pick for a wr that you knew was due a contract you didn't sign immediately. If you didn't want to sign him you shouldn't have traded for him. Dak should have been signed after 2018 in a down year due to wr by committee and banged up o line that played terribly. But we sign zeke and jaylon. This team is led by drunks that actually don't know wth they are doing. With 3 top guys going to hit FA we actually didn't sign any of them? lol

Quite right you are. Not signing Coop to an extension the moment his plane touched down in Dallas was moronic. And not trying to resign him last offseason was moronic. I know we needed to keep Zeke, but there are moves that can be made to keep all of them last year. As for Dak, I don't mind waiting until this year, but I think a reasonable offer to him would be something to the tune of 5 years and $35 mil a year. That's giving him a tad more than Wentz (whom he should be paid more than in all honesty as he's been more reliable) and Goff.

Just like I don't see why it's so hard for YOU to get that others (including the coach) seem to think differently of Dak than you do. And, unless you work in a NFL FO, what you think means absolutely nothing either.

In fairness, the FO and HC dont think enough of him to commit any long term money. Actions speak louder than words.

Not sure we can say the HC...…...…….unless you don't take his word at face value, McCarthy has said on numerous occasions how much he wants Dak to be his QB.

I just think it is more probable that the deal is for 5 or 6 years based on the information out there.

Well, if it's 5 or 6, the money will still be compensatory to whatever is being made by Goff or Wentz or whomever. I mean, I don't even think that's a real issue, to be honest.

Some pretty delicious tears in this thread.

“Waaaaah why didn’t he get the non-exclusive tag!?!?”

“Waaaaah so the QB I hate on my favorite team WILL still be our QB next year? And he’ll be making a ton of money to do so!?!?”

YUMMY!!!!! More tears please!!!!!

:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2: Brown nosing the FO? WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I originally brought up an issue with FO about certain contracts and YOU told ME to stop talking about something that I disagreed with the FO for doing. But, you obviously felt butt hurt because this all ties into your hate for Dak and wanting him gone and I didn't agree with you. So, call me all the playful names you want - I have my opinion and you have yours. Good Day Sir
I didn’t tell you to do anything. I said I just wished people aka you would stop lumping in a deal the team wanted to compare to Daks. I also told your emotional self that if Dak took the same “team friendly” deal he’d be signed. I didn’t tell you to stop doing anything just explained why Smith deal is different than Zekes. I don’t care if you don’t agree with me on Dak because history will show you on that front. I responded to the silliness about my POV of not mattering. Nobody’s does so you saying that is more silliness that doesn’t make sense but when you’re the truly emotional one you try to throw it back on me. Your tactics work on me wizard

unfortunate, but true

THAT'S why the FO messed this up...………...as much as I like Dak, bidness is bidness. If you give him the Non-Exclusive Tag, you find out EXACTLY what others think of Dak and if you want match that OR get draft compensation. It wasn't as difficult as they've made this.

With the Tannehill and Cousins contracts Dak’s deal is getting more expensive by the day.

We’ve said all along the longer the Cowboys wait the more they are going to have to pay.

If Jerry had offered an overly generous contract right after the 2018 season the team would be in a much better place now.

How do we know this? I don't believe this personally. I believe that in 2018, Dak hired France and CAA. They don't operate that way. What I believe would have happened is that they would have accepted more money in 2018 and 2019 but would not have signed for any longer then 2021/22. This agent has always been about setting this deal up so that they can renegotiate a deal after the CBA and after Mohomboy gets his deal. That was always the plan so basically, we could have paid more to be in exactly the same position.

Maybe they've no interest in market testing as they have no intention of keeping him beyond this season. No need to deal with the drama of having to deal with the player getting offers, counter offers and all those other distractions that go with the process.

Then, LET HIM GO and get compensation for him. And, this is coming from somebody that likes him.

Why does my opinion need to be law when I literally just posted others can disagree with me man. You’re not making sense sir. If me calling you emotional makes you want to call me the same in return to feel better go ahead but a grown man posting like emoticons smh.

Seriously, why do you keep replying to me if I'M the emotional one in this convo. Do you so desperately need to have the last word? You're not gonna change my original opinion and I'm sure as bleep not trying to change yours. So, just let it go.

Hey, Dak this is it, baby!

You either perform or trust me this will be your last year of ineptness under center for our Cowboys!

P.S. Beating dead-beat teams won't produce a mega long term deal for you and you've simply run out of time and excuses!

I keep replying because I don’t mind replying to emotional people sir. I understand that’s how it goes at times and most times you’re probably a good person. I don’t hold temporary stuff against people. There is the answer to that question.

As far as the last word you should ask yourself the same question. You didn’t have to respond to my post sir so spare me the psychology 101. I’m not trying to change your opinion and never tried to. I posted how I felt and if you agree or not it doesn’t matter sir. Again take your own advice and let it go because most of your post are post that aren’t making sense on this one.

you don't see an issue for Dak if he is locked in a contract for three years with no guarantees?
